Short-Term Running Goals:

Now that I'm (almost for sure) done having all the babies, I'm working on building consistency and seeing how fast I can get in my old age. ;)

Long-Term Running Goals:

I'd like to be a healthy and relatively injury-free runner for the rest of my life.

Personal:

I'm married to Eric (Faceless Ghost on the blog) and we have very active daughters and one dog. I have a PhD in sociology and demography, and I'm incredibly grateful to have work that is meaningful and that builds on my academic experience. I run because it makes me feel strong and it helps to keep the crazy away (there is a long history of abuse and mental illness in my extended family).

A half marathon was pretty close to my house and Toby was running it, so I told her I'd meet her and run part of the race with her. I didn't realize that there was also a marathon, so I was confused for a bit when I was running backward on the course and the first people I saw didn't seem very fast. But then I saw the half people coming, and they were super speedy. I met Toby at about the mouth of the canyon and tried to think of some stories to tell for the next couple of miles. But then I got the poops and I had to leave Toby to find a potty. Bad race buddy! But I found her again at the end and she looked like she had had a good race. And I was home by 8 with the miles (including some nice up and downhill) I needed for the day.

I so hope you were able to find a potty pronto! That is such a horrible feeling!

Thank you again for being such a great support yesterday! We have to get together this week...my turn to tell stories :)

Ah dang, I hate getting the poops on a run! What a nice running buddy you are to meet Toby! And way to get in the miles.
