Personal:

My name is Eugenio I was born near Rome, Italy, in 1972 and lived there for 29 years, then in 2001 I moved to Salt Lake City for work and for seven years and one month that was my home, since 2008 I am back to Italy. I started running in 2003 when I realized I could not ride my bike throughout the Utah winter.

A few days of low mileage (even with some speed yesterday) gave new life to my legs. Tonight 4 miles but I am getting really anxious to go longer and faster.

In bocca al lupo per la mezza al lago di Vico. How's the weather forecast?

From Camillo on Thu, Sep 08, 2011 at 15:16:36 from 79.56.232.121

Ciao Claudio,

so you don't have just an italian/latin name you are also italian?

Weather forecasts don't look too good, it will be warm with temperatures around 25-30°C. The race starts at 10am so it will be definitively warm. The worst thing is the dust cloud hovering over the lake during the last 10 days (http://www.danielecamilli.it/?p=8711) the only hope is some light breeze/wind to improve the dusty conditions and the heat.

Anyway: CREPI IL LUPO!!!!

Born in Liguria, in 1974, and raised there until the age of 27, then moved to the US.

Wow that huge dust cloud looks really ugly, but worst it would make it really hard to breathe... I wish I could send your way some of the rain we're having here in Maryland. Here's hoping for cleaner air and cooler temps on race day, looking forward to your race report.

We could definitively use some rain here, we haven't had a single drop of rain since mid july.

In the meantime some light breeze could help.

We both moved to the US in 2001, we were probably on the same flight.... july 12th perhaps???

Close enough about the moving date! :) I was at PSU from January to May 2001 working on my thesis as a visiting student from UNIGE, then back to Italy I got my laurea on July 26 2001, then moved for good to US a couple of weeks later to start my first semester of grad school - never went back, excluding a few of times to visit my relatives. Do you miss the US at all?

I really miss many friends I left in Utah and some of them are now spread throughout the US. I miss Utah too, that is a great place where to live, most of the time when I was there I felt I was on a vacation (a seven years long vacation!!!).

One of the reasons I came back to Italy it is because I had to move anyway somewhere else out of Utah for my career, at that point between coming back to Rome (with a job) or starting in a new place in US, I chose home.

Utah has a very special place in my heart even now after three years.
