Personal:

My name is Eugenio I was born near Rome, Italy, in 1972 and lived there for 29 years, then in 2001 I moved to Salt Lake City for work and for seven years and one month that was my home, since 2008 I am back to Italy. I started running in 2003 when I realized I could not ride my bike throughout the Utah winter.

5 slow miles as an active rest day. Tomorrow I will attempt first 20 miler after the marathon, I hope it will go well.

5 miles sounds like a very active rest day. It's weird how we talk about an easy 5 miler. Most people struggle to run a complete mile, let alone 5.

Kam,

it is funny/weird not only for the general population, but also in my area most of the runners(approx. 95-97%) don't do marathons, so my training schedule with an easy 5 miler it is really considered crazy. Many times (right after or before 10k) I try avoiding running in places where I can be seen, for many of them it is just inconceivable.
