I think I know why Scott hasn't posted his race report yet. I saw him trying to impress the ladies at the club the other night. They didn't seem impressed with his fly moves.

Today was my first day running in the new neighborhood. I went from my house out to 32nd, east on Pueblo, south on Val Vista, west on Southern (I have actually ran the Southern Ave. part before), north on Lindsay, east on Broadway, south on 32nd, and back home. I only saw two other runners. One was an old lady that looked like she was booking it. The other was a young guy and he also had a library card. I figured I'd see more people out running because I see them all the time, but I guess it's mostly in the afternoon. What else am I supposed to do if I can't watch other runners? At least I got to run by Giant Hamburger. It's a pretty good restaurant. I've eaten there several times.
I went to the bathroom twice before my run. Speaking of adult diapers (because I know how immature you all are), I read some articles on AZCentral.com that really disturbed me last week. A guy I went to college with, who graduated the semester after me, was just found guilty of murder. A couple of years after graduation he 'got a cozy little job with the Mexican mob packaging candy cane.' (Ten points to whoever can name that song without googling it.) Anyway, it's a long story, but basically they lost their shipment of 'goods' and suspected it was the police informant. It was. So they took him, forced him to put on an adult diaper, so that when they tortured him for information, he wouldn't make a mess. That just turned my stomach to hear. He was a nice kid, too.

Today is National Runner's Day. At least, I hope it is. I've been telling everybody it was. There was a Ragnar clinic tonight at 6pm that I decided to go to. A group of about 25 runners showed up. We started at Tempe Marketplace and ran down to Tempe Town Lake. We all just ran for 20 minutes, then turned around and ran the other way. I started my Garmin, but forgot that it was still set for bicycle. So after 0.22 miles when I noticed I switched it over. But it started the time over, so I had to just turn around when everyone else did. It was a fun time even though it was about 90 degrees out. Anyway, I'm going to be on a Vegas Ragnar team. I think I am. I hope so. The nice thing is, it will be free because the lady is the local representative for Ragnar here in Phoenix.

I started getting sick yesterday at work. It always starts with my nose running off my face, then a headache, then a full-on body ache. I got to the headache stage, but I didn't want to miss the clinic. After running last night, I felt a little better, but I really slept in today. I'm totally late for work right now, but oh well. At least I got a small run in. Since I knew I wasn't going very far, I took Ginger with me. Oh my gosh that dog needs a ritalin!

I'm not sure what I did to my back, but it hurts like the dickens. It's been hurting a little while I've been moving. I figured maybe I wasn't lifting with my legs properly. Maybe it's all caught up to me now. I'm pretty sure it didn't have anything to do with cardio thunder, tho' that's been the cause of back discomfort before. I hope it gets better soon, but I'm hurtin' for certain or my name isn't Burton.
Here's a pic for the inspired runner Ben.
