| | Well, I missed another full week because of a lung infection. Even this morning I was still hacking up yellow stuff. But I decided to go anyway. The 10 min. pace felt sustainable.

| | After I dropped my girls off at school, I drove up to South Mountain. I haven't been there in forever, but it has the best hills, I think, for training for a Ragnar trail race. The first mile and a quarter is on a dirt road. Then you hit the trail. The trail is much steeper and more technical. I had to walk numerous times, even though I only went up three quarters of a mile. I took some pictures at the top and ran back down. On the way down I almost ran into a snake. It wasn't a rattlesnake, but it scared the ladies that were on their way up. I couldn't get a picture fast enough before it slithered away. I also saw a turtle when I was driving out to the main road. Some ladies were in the road making sure it got across safely. It looked like a large red-eared slider, which are not native to hear. It probably was once someone's pet and now lives in one of the ponds at the golf course.

| | Yesterday was the Adventure Run and I was hoping to get to run with a group last night, but I got stuck on ID checking instead. But that's ok. It's all about the free shoes.
My legs were still sore from South Mountain on Tuesday. Other than that I felt relatively good. I got to the turn around point and saw Rob Carlock. Rob is the main boss of the zanjeros. That was the first time I've seen him since I quit. We had a good talk. He reminded me about the time I lost my weir stick in the lateral pipe. I ran a mile back down the canal and saw him again. He complimented me on my pace (even though it was slightly over 10 min/mile.)
