I'm beginning to think my hamstring will never get better.  Hardly any running, and it's still the same.  I guess I have no choice but to run through it.  Maybe I could be an ultra marathoner.  A very slow ultra marathoner.

You can do whatever you want. Have you had it looked at? What's to say I guess. "You have a strained hamstring, and that will be a $30 copay on your way out." What did you do to it? Run?:)

From Tracy on Fri, Nov 25, 2011 at 21:14:01 from 50.103.225.65

I know that to most people on this blog, 4.35 miles is hardly a run, but I'm impressed by that distance on a bum leg, all the while carrying around that beard.

From Burt on Fri, Nov 25, 2011 at 22:09:41 from 174.254.16.8

Tara - what are these doctors you speak of?

Tracy - thanks! Wait, you're mocking me, aren't you?

From Tara on Fri, Nov 25, 2011 at 22:22:00 from 75.169.159.43

Sports Doc. Ps. My friend list works:)

From Burt on Sat, Nov 26, 2011 at 01:27:43 from 174.254.16.8

Yay! Why is allie on it? Oh well.

From Tara on Sat, Nov 26, 2011 at 01:42:36 from 75.169.159.43

Allie was my first pick.

From Tracy on Sat, Nov 26, 2011 at 10:12:18 from 50.103.225.65

Nah, Burt. Only mocking the beard, not the miles or the injury.

From SlowJoe on Sat, Nov 26, 2011 at 12:29:19 from 98.201.152.210

The beard is a good first step to being an ultra runner.

From april27 on Sat, Nov 26, 2011 at 19:27:39 from 99.188.251.180

I took time off for my injuries and it doesn't seem to help...active rest seems to help more!

From Burt on Sat, Nov 26, 2011 at 19:38:10 from 72.223.93.131

Joe - is the next step a beer belly?

From Burt on Sat, Nov 26, 2011 at 19:38:49 from 72.223.93.131

April - more details please.

From april27 on Sat, Nov 26, 2011 at 20:03:45 from 99.188.251.180

Well...run ing slower less miles, less days a week of running and cross training. I'm not 100 percent but I feel like I'm getting there

From flatlander on Sun, Nov 27, 2011 at 08:14:51 from 76.31.26.153

Good luck with the hammy Burt. When I get something like that I tend to push it just a little bit, more out of impatience than anything. Consistency over effort or volume, but it does seem to work.

From Brent on Sun, Nov 27, 2011 at 15:09:19 from 66.7.127.67

Burt, PT would help, hey, run with a compressin sleeve on the hammy. Also, rubber band exercises to make it stronger. Time to do some internet searches on the hammy rehab if you cannot affort the PT. Also, does it hurt to ride a bike or swim? Time to hit the cross training hard?

Stay Kool, B of BS Rools out - that would be a root beer belly.

Read Andrea and Jake's blog. She has a great post about hamstrings.

What's with the beard? I thought it was mustache month.

From Burt on Sun, Nov 27, 2011 at 16:19:23 from 72.223.93.131

thanks guys. what I'm hearing is it's time for another round of P90X.

RAB - it's no shave month for prostate awareness. But I'm just lazy.

From Hamdog Alum on Mon, Nov 28, 2011 at 20:31:16 from 24.240.65.116

Sorry to hear about the hamstring Burt. Atleast, slow running is better than no running!

From The Quiet Pirate on Wed, Nov 30, 2011 at 11:38:48 from 152.26.59.252

Hammy..ham... I like ham. Hope your hamstring is better soon. I'd hate for you to have to become an ultra runner.

From Steam8 on Wed, Nov 30, 2011 at 17:28:07 from 166.70.55.77

In panty hose? :)

From Burt on Wed, Nov 30, 2011 at 17:41:18 from 68.14.209.26

Hamdog - agreed.

QP - I know. Wouldn't that suck?

Steamer - maybe...
