Thought I should do a little speed work today, so I threw a fast mile in the middle.  I lost 4 lbs. of sweat on my run this morning.  Now my data is all outta whack.

Story time - It's really not that great of a story.  Yesterday I was riding my bike to work.  I looked down at the chain wrapped around my handlebars.  There sat a cute little jumping spider about the size of a lady bug.  He would turn and stop.  Turn and stop.  Such a cute little guy.  Then he turned and stopped looking directly at me.  This put me in a state of uncomfortability because he had quadruple the eyes that I do.  Make that double.  I had my glasses on.  Can spiders sense fear?  If I stare at it, will it take it as a sign of aggression?  It turns out it wanted to have a staring contest because I blinked, and it turned and stopped again.  After a little bit it left the chain and crawled on to the  handlebars.  It continued down the right handlebar directly toward my hand.  Even with as cute as it was, with my prior nervousness, I made up my mind that I would find it a new home if it crawled on my hand.  The itsy bitsy spider did crawl on my hand, and I promptly shook it off.  Good luck little guy.  Oh, snap!  My right hand is the one I use to hold my lunch!  Luckily the gooey rubber of my handlebars held the lunch in place long enough for me to grab it again.  I told you it wasn't that great of a story.

Day 37 P90X - Plyometrics - My legs were kinda sore from my run this morning, but I'm really starting to like this workout.  Why?  Because it's only 58 minutes long as compared to the other workouts which are between 75 and 90 minutes each.

That's funny - apparently this all took place fast enough that you didn't run into any parked cars - that's the worst. Nice speed by the way.

Cool 6:35

Nice story--we call them lady birds over here!

From Burt on Tue, Aug 10, 2010 at 13:26:10 from 206.19.214.144

Jason - I've yet to hit a parked car. Knock on wood.

Chris - Ladybirds/bugs are just as ugly as any other bug once you clip their wings.

Wrong, it is a great story, especially the part comparing respective eye counts.

Bug killer...according to my daughter.

Lily - don't you like spiders?

FL - there was a rumor at my junior high that if you stared at the social studies teacher, he would pee his pants. I never tried it tho.

Merri and Yogayogi - thanks. I did enjoy his company for a few minutes.

Eric - I don't think I killed it, but if I did, it's survival of the fittest. Tell your daughter nature is cruel :)

nice fast mile in the middle there. Are you up for running again on Saturday?

From Toby on Tue, Aug 10, 2010 at 22:16:32 from 216.194.124.37

Did you tell that story to your kids as a bedtime story?

From SlowJoe on Wed, Aug 11, 2010 at 05:37:05 from 214.13.130.104

He shouldn't have stared you down like that. You were right to show him what happens to insolent punk spiders.

Also, nice middle mile - that p90x is keeping you fast!

cool fast mile!

I think spiders are cool...but not on me. Good thing you've got those super cool p90x flicking skills.
