This morning my Garmin was off the charger and the little band that holds the straps together was taken off.  Emily got a hold of it.  I turned it on and started my warm-up.  It would not locate satelites.  I placed it on the ground in the open and let it cook some more. Still nothing.  Then I turned it off and turned it back on.  Nothing doing.  Has anybody had this problem?  After I took it off when I got back home it sounded a little wiggly inside.

The run was good.  Nice and slow.  It's warming up, but it's so beautiful out.  My hammy still won't let me run fast.  I don't want to take any time off from running but maybe I need to.  Nah.  I'll get fat.

Time - 49:16 (avg. pace 8:47)

Splits - I guess I'll have to ask Emily about this one...

If there's a mechanical problem, this wouldn't help, but one time my Garmin was acting up, and I just had to reset it completely. I can't remember the sequence of buttons you have to push, but you can find it on Garmin's web site.

I had to reset my Garmin a few weeks ago as well. It is on the Garmin Website.

And if your hams are hurting, just do some cross training for a day or two and rest the muscle. Come on, this isn't rocket science Mr. Astley. Remember I was on the eliptical almost the whole month of December because of the mysterious foot prob. And it went away. Rest is good

I agree with Lily and Steve on the reset. Here is some info I have saved on my computer from past experience:

Garmin devices occasionally "Lock up" and either refuse to function correctly or (especially in the case of the 205 / 305) refuse to turn on.

Warm Reset:

Press Lap and Mode while the device is powered. (Or while off in the case of a power up failure)

No data is lost.

Reccomended as the first solution to any device quirks (failure to turn on for example).

Cold Reset:

Press and hold Mode while powering up the device. Accept the safety prompt by answering "Yes".

Reccomended as a solution for device quirks if a warm reset fails to solve the problem, following a firmware upgrade, when you wish to restore factory default settings.

This operation will effectively reset the device to "factory default" state, and will clear all user and equipment profile data as well as all user selected parameters, restoring the factory settings.

Saved activities, courses, and workouts are not deleted (need to verify this on a 205 / 305), although default workouts are restored (need to verify this). The SD data card on a 605 / 705 is not cleared.

With the sore hammy, it's probably better you ran without the Garmin. Good luck resetting it. It usually solves the problems.

Treadmill runs don't need a garmin. :)
