It's been raining quite a bit today.  I've been wearing my running clothes for most of the day just waiting to go out.  I finally decided to go right after dinner.  What better training for Ragnar than right after eating two hot dogs and some Kraft Macaroni & Cheese?  I ran the first half mile with my sister-in-law as she rode her bike home.  Immediately I felt my belly jiggling.  I knew it would be a fun run.  My main focus was to not puke.  After about a mile it started raining again.  I got pretty soaked, but I was already sweating.  Hot dogs do that to you.  Speaking of dogs, there was a big dead one in the gutter.  It was pretty grizzly.  I don't like seeing dead things.  One time I came across this bum passed out on the sidewalk that I thought was dead.  That pretty much ruined my run.

Time - 48:57 (avg. pace 9:04)

Splits - 8:59, 9:09, 9:10, 9:08, 9:00, 3:31

I find myself looking at your splits trying to figure out where you came across the carcass. I can't figure it out. Your splits are pretty consistent.

By the way, that was a fartastic race report Thursday.

Nice work Burt! I must agree about the ragnar training, perfect conditions - even the aptly placed carcass to help the puking along.

PRE - I'd say the dog was about 1.8 miles in. I had to concentrate on not letting it bother. But it's eyes were open! Stop thinking about it. Stop thinking about it.

RAD - We saw a dead javelina at the last Del Sol relay.

I can't figure it out, you don't like it when I talk about green goobers.... but dead animals

Mac n Cheese and dogs for a pre race meal? I would have puked for sure. Props for holding that in.

Love that roadkill. Did you know skunks die with their mouth open, bearing their teeth...every single time. It's science. I always look, and immediately regret it.

Busted, cold dusted, hot dog, with mustard.

Rye - it's just that you're obsessed with green goobers.

April - I know. I think it was a pitbull, so I didn't feel too bad. But it was still sad and it looked like a horror movie.

Scott - You're much too sophisticated to eat hot dogs and mac & cheese anyway.

Joe - I've never gotten that close to a dead skunk. For some reason I just haven't. Wonder what it could be.

Merri - you have a song for everything.
