I emailed RUN2DAY to see if he wanted to come running with me this morning.  I never got a response back.  Then this girl that I used to teach Sunday School to said she wants to start training for a marathon.  I told her to come meet me at 6am to go for a run, but I knew she wouldn't.  Then I realized I had told RUN2DAY the same time.  I thought I might have to pull a Peter Brady on them.  But neither one showed, so I went with Ginger.  She's been sleeping inside lately and hasn't left any little "gifts."  I gave her a moment outside by herself so she could rid herself of any nocturnal build-up.  Our splits were pretty even.  In that last mile she started to slow down.  I hoped I wasn't pushing it too hard for her because who knows when the last time she got a drink was.  Then she started to speed up.  Then instead of doing the one foot after the other trot, she started doing the front legs/back legs together thing.  It was weird.  I realized she had to poop.  Luckily we were next to the golf course, so I took her up on the green because I hate golf.  Just kidding, it was in the landscaping.  Sorry Kim.  I left it there for the golfers.

After I did my three mile loop I went back out to make sure my boy got to the bus stop.

Time - 26:03 (avg. pace 8:43)

Splits - 8:43, 8:41, 8:45

Then 8:08 pace for last 0.7.

Ha. Funny story. I love it. I also love golf, so sorry.

Jun - as much as I respect and admire your running, especially all the cool trail running you do, we are world's apart in our likes and dislikes. LOL!

From jun on Mon, Feb 08, 2010 at 12:58:21 from 66.239.250.209

I like pizza. Any common ground there? We would just never see each other at a concert or on the golf course; well, unless you were walking your dog and she needed to go to the bathroom, that is.

From Burt on Mon, Feb 08, 2010 at 13:03:16 from 206.19.214.144

Yes, pizza is good, and yes, I would let Ginger poop on the golf course and the alternative rock concert.

Oh darn. I forgot to YouTube those songs. Remind me tonight when I get home. I have to give them a fair try at least.

From AmberG on Mon, Feb 08, 2010 at 13:30:39 from 209.33.225.220

At least it was your dog and not you . . . I'm just sayin. . . running does that to ya!

From jun on Mon, Feb 08, 2010 at 13:32:42 from 66.239.250.209

Certainly did it to me this morning.

From TBarlow on Mon, Feb 08, 2010 at 14:46:16 from 216.194.124.36

Nice run Burt!

From Burt on Mon, Feb 08, 2010 at 15:25:17 from 206.19.214.144

Amber and jun - I'm training myself to not have that problem. I went before and after.

Toby - Thanks. Glad you haven't drowned in the pool.

From Scott Wesemann on Mon, Feb 08, 2010 at 16:50:53 from 66.239.250.209

Hey Burt, no need for training yourself. I have found that adult diapers work wonderfully.

From Burt on Mon, Feb 08, 2010 at 18:32:55 from 206.19.214.144

Scott - what brand works best for you? Do they make ultra thins for discreteness and extra cushiony for comfort?

From Kelli on Mon, Feb 08, 2010 at 18:37:59 from 71.219.89.82

Stood up twice in one day? OUCH! Glad you had Ginger.

From Scott Wesemann on Mon, Feb 08, 2010 at 19:38:54 from 66.239.250.209

Memo to self: NEVER Google 'adult diapers' ever again.

From Samantha Dean-Howard on Tue, Feb 09, 2010 at 06:57:28 from 78.32.130.9

memo to self, adult diapers for marathon, last time it cost me 2 mins and a sub 3 hr marathon I did 3.01.10secs, C LOL no I am training to not bathroom during a run, so If you see me running holding my butt ya know why LMAO

From Marathon Dreamer on Tue, Feb 09, 2010 at 08:30:38 from 200.52.168.6

LOL!!! You know how I feel about those little "gifts" left behind Burt!!!

From allie on Tue, Feb 09, 2010 at 15:06:53 from 129.123.244.143

burt is very sensitive about PAS in nature.

but remember burt, the bank isn't always going to be open, and someday it will be you on that golf course.

From SlowJoe on Tue, Feb 09, 2010 at 15:13:37 from 71.21.119.111

"Depends" is marketing to the wrong demographic. They need to put an ad in Runner's World. "Guaranteed to shave 3 minutes from your old PR - no extra training involved."

From allie on Tue, Feb 09, 2010 at 15:23:08 from 129.123.244.143

slowjoe - this would alleviate the need for POPs along the course. maybe it will catch on at the "green" marathons.

5,000 adults running down the road in diapers...what a great sport.

From Burt on Tue, Feb 09, 2010 at 15:32:02 from 206.19.214.144

It's not so much the PAS, it's the wiping that I'm anal about. Pun intended. Bank won't be open, good one.

Joe - can you imagine the guy that tries to get the interview with the winner. He's have to be really dedicated to do his job.

From SlowJoe on Tue, Feb 09, 2010 at 16:03:32 from 71.21.119.111

Burt, leaves can help you out there. Not that I would know, I, uh, heard... from a friend.

Allie, they could even create a special fertilizer from the "proceeds" to green it up even more.
