Cheer up sleepy Burt-een

Oh what can it mean

To a marathon dreamer

And a homecoming queen...

This morning I had the pleasure of running with another fellow blogger.  We met in the parking lot of Pei Wei's and ran down Baseline to the Consolidated Canal.  Then we ran north and were going to just go until we felt like it was time to turn around.  But we got so close to my house that I said, "Hey, let's go to my house."  So we went and got some ice cold water.  Only my sister was awake.  The house, of course, was a mess.  I hope she forgives me.  We had a great conversation, and now we know everything about each other.  We're best friends.  We even brushed and braided each other's hair.

Remember what I said about nipular bleeding only occuring after 8 miles?  Well, that's when I'm running regularly.  I sprung a couple of "leaks" this morning.  I was so embarrassed that I had to take my shirt off, which of course made me even more embarrassed.  Hey, I'm serious.  There is nothing pleasing to the eye about a fat, pale white, hairy, shirtless guy.  Just ask MD.  Anyway, I say it's time for a local FRB run this Saturday.  Who's in?  James?  Lybi?  Camille?  AZDesertMonsoon?  RunnerJeffAZ?  Uh, Bonnie?  (Flagstaff isn't too far away, or for that matter Lake Havasu City.)  Rhett?

The left side of this picture looks really good.  The guy on the right side has a ginormous head!  Look at that thing.  It's like an orange on a toothpick!  It's a virtual planetoid!  It has it's own weather system!  I'm not kidding, that boy's head is like Sputnik; spherical but quite pointy at parts! He'll be crying himself to sleep tonight, on his huge pillow.

Splits - 9:42, 9:39, 9:48, 9:34, 9:21

Day 17 P90X - Arms and Shoulders/Ab Ripper X

My back is killing me.  I usually feel better after doing this workout.  Something about the resistance bands seems to work the muscles in the opposite direction, and they just seem to recover.  We'll see if it helps my back.

it's a guess at best, out here on my limb

but it seems as though sleepy burt-een slept in.

then again, i can see those 5 miles you logged

so i have to conclude that you somehow were robbed.

being robbed by a queen leaves me quite perplexed.

have you really been doing your p 90x?

From allie on Wed, Jul 21, 2010 at 11:31:07 from 174.23.226.74

i like the picture, btw. and i'm a local, so count me in.

From flatlander on Wed, Jul 21, 2010 at 11:37:17 from 198.207.244.102

Good miles this morning, glad you got to meet another blogger, sounds like a grand old time in the Valley of the Sun.

From RAD on Wed, Jul 21, 2010 at 12:07:43 from 67.172.229.125

HE-ED DOWN NOW! However, I don't think it's that big :)

Nice work on the run and beauty salon party!

From Scott Wesemann on Wed, Jul 21, 2010 at 12:20:06 from 66.239.250.209

TMI dude! I'm sitting here trying to enjoy my lovely breakfast and I am being bombarded with visuals of pasty white skin with gobs of hair and bleeding nipples. Ummmmm... gulp.

Hey, nice run this morning.

From James W on Wed, Jul 21, 2010 at 12:33:16 from 12.151.72.1

Burt, I think I am up for it, but I gotta check the calendar when I get home. Either early morning or later in the evening to avoid the heat, though!

From James W on Wed, Jul 21, 2010 at 12:35:58 from 12.151.72.1

Allie, you didn't relocate to the (real) valley, did you? I thought you were up in SLC?

From Burt on Wed, Jul 21, 2010 at 13:02:43 from 206.19.214.144

allie - you're the best poet/rapper on the blog. You're also the best liar.

Flatlander - It was a great time, and I couldn't stop sweating.

RAD - Nailed it! Such a good movie. I like the part with Mike Meyer's butt.

Scott - Sorry man. You know me though. I can't not post something like that.

James - We plan on meeting at the same place, Pei Wei's, on Sat. at 5:30 or 6am.

From Marathon Dreamer on Wed, Jul 21, 2010 at 13:31:19 from 68.109.133.145

HEHEHE!!! Fun run with you Burt.... I didn't realize that your nipples were bleeding!!! I thought you were just trying to show off that hairy, sweaty, P90X chest!!! By the way everyone, he really does sweat a lot, but I couldn't smell him so that was a plus! Your head is not really that big... it's gotta be the angle. Look at that chick with the grey hair peeking out of her visor (needing a color badly) and the big ole' zit on her chin!!! Thankfully I kept my glasses on for the picture... I have raccoon eyes at this time of the morning. On my way home... I stopped and picked us up some pretty colored elastics for the next time....

From Burt on Wed, Jul 21, 2010 at 14:09:26 from 206.19.214.144

MD - I'm creepy, but I'm not that creepy. Maybe I'll show my chest off more when I shave and get a tan. LOL! I didn't see any gray hairs. What are you talking about? You looked great. But I did see a butt on your stomach. LOL! (Inside joke.)

From Lily on Wed, Jul 21, 2010 at 15:09:29 from 67.199.181.73

Can someone just bring napoleon his chap stick?

From Lily on Wed, Jul 21, 2010 at 15:10:21 from 67.199.181.73

haha RAD- so I married an ax murderer! LOL

From The Quiet Pirate on Wed, Jul 21, 2010 at 15:22:22 from 65.191.108.72

maybe you could mousse up the hair around your nipples next time you're playing beauty shop and see if that helps keep the friction down....

From Burt on Wed, Jul 21, 2010 at 16:05:55 from 206.19.214.144

Lily - I'm not going to use yours, you sicko!

QP - maybe some dead beaver extract.

From Rhett on Wed, Jul 21, 2010 at 16:11:41 from 74.32.211.23

First of all, I love the intro to your blog today.

Secone, you know I would totally drive all the way to Phoenix for a run, but with my stress fracture, I'm not allowed to run. I'll just have to read about it.

From Burt on Wed, Jul 21, 2010 at 18:08:37 from 206.19.214.144

Rhett - The Monkeys were a huge influence on the Beatles. Sorry about the stress fracture. You'd still be faster than all of us.

Kim - I mean MD! My wife was mortified at that I let you in the house and how messy it was. LOL! And did you bring your IPOD in case you got sick of listening to me?

From RivertonPaul on Wed, Jul 21, 2010 at 18:47:39 from 67.42.27.114

Nice entry, even with the nipular bleeding .

From Burt on Wed, Jul 21, 2010 at 18:52:10 from 206.19.214.144

Paul - If anyone wants to see what a fat shirtless guy that actually looks good, they should check out the pictures you took of yourself on your yesterday entry. Uh-huh!

From Marathon Dreamer on Wed, Jul 21, 2010 at 20:08:17 from 68.109.133.145

Burt.... that ipod is secretly a global positioning unit... just in case you turned into a psycho, I could hit the button and someone would have come to the rescue... it's kinda like the "I've fallen and I can't get up" button but it's the "I've encountered a pscyho please help me" button!

From Derunzo on Wed, Jul 21, 2010 at 20:41:46 from 98.229.131.173

Burt.... I bet you deliver a mean head-butt with that gigantic cranium of yours.

From Bonnie on Thu, Jul 22, 2010 at 01:17:06 from 70.41.211.48

Awesome, as usual you made my night burt, although I am going to watch some horror movies so I don't get chased by a nipple bleeding, q-tip headed, serial killer in my dreams.

From ChrisM on Thu, Jul 22, 2010 at 04:16:36 from 130.88.123.4

If I had my own private jet I would be straight over...

From SlowJoe on Thu, Jul 22, 2010 at 06:35:53 from 214.13.130.104

I guess you should run more to build up those nipular calluses, or you'll be getting nipular scabs from nipular bleeding. nipular.

From seeaprilrun on Thu, Jul 22, 2010 at 07:31:31 from 68.103.243.161

I'd love to run with you--just chill in the bushes by my back door and I'll meet you at 6am tomorrow.

From ben on Thu, Jul 22, 2010 at 10:20:32 from 209.33.248.15

Did you cry yourself to sleep last night in your hugh pillow?

From AZDesertmonsoon on Thu, Jul 22, 2010 at 13:00:55 from 204.17.31.126

Regretfully, I must decline, Allah forbids it.

Or more accurately, my pride forbids it. Thanks for the offer though.

From runningafterbabies on Thu, Jul 22, 2010 at 17:42:02 from 67.177.9.74

I could loan you a couple sports bras.

From Burt on Thu, Jul 22, 2010 at 18:50:40 from 206.19.214.144

Derunzo rhymes with Funzo. Remember that Simpson's Christmas special with the late great Gary Coleman?

Bonnie - Hope you slept well last night.

Chris - What's wrong with your jet? Is it in the shop?

Joe - I see you're getting good use out of your new vocabulary.

April - I'm there usually at least once a week. I've been to shy to say hi, though.

Ben - I cry myself to sleep every night. I keep thinking, tomorrow's going to be the day that I get exposed for the phony that I am.

AZDM - bummer! Leave your pride at the door and come on over :)

Melody - I'm a D cup.
