50 sit-ups, 20 push-ups, planks, side plank, 2 half way down pull-ups.  My right calf muscle is still very much sore from Saturday.  Maybe I'll do an easy 3 this evening.

*************************************************************

I did not do any run this evening, but I did start P90X.  Chest/back and Ab Ripper X.  To enter the Puke Zone do you actually have to puke?  If so, then I was in the Almost Puke Zone.

Sounds like we will soon be seeing the ripped Burt. Nice core work.

From Burt on Mon, Jan 18, 2010 at 12:13:25 from 206.19.214.144

I'm not gonna lie. I'm getting pretty ripped. (Okay, maybe I'll exaggerate the truth a little.)

From seeaprilrun on Mon, Jan 18, 2010 at 12:27:13 from 68.103.250.39

Hmmm looks like a nice core workout. Copycat time.

From Bonnie on Mon, Jan 18, 2010 at 12:27:26 from 128.196.228.134

Our runs on Saturday look almost identical! Mine was a little shorter than yours, but the first and last 3.7 miles look very much the same (elevation-wise). My calves don't hurt, but my quads sure do ...I hate hate hate steep downhills. Although I did read an article a few years ago that said if you train on downhills you will lessen your risk of injury in downhill races.

You will have to come down to Tucson sometime Burt. I am sure we have a couple free passes for the Desert Museum laying around ... it would be an awesome day-trip for the family, we could show you around.

nice workout there Burt, did you read my mind on the thoughts about you doing 40 of allot of exercises ?

You know my thoughts on calf muscles soreness, rest elevate ice ice ice massage stretch ;-)

From flatlander on Mon, Jan 18, 2010 at 15:37:12 from 198.207.244.102

I can't do any pull-ups. I think I skipped that part of PE, and I think a lot of other runners did too.

From vinh on Mon, Jan 18, 2010 at 15:38:09 from 71.68.254.197

Nice job Burt! I did 30 pull ups for you today. I used to do 30 something at once, now probably can get only 18-20.

From flatlander on Mon, Jan 18, 2010 at 15:39:09 from 198.207.244.102

Except for vinh.

From Burt on Mon, Jan 18, 2010 at 15:53:14 from 206.19.214.144

April - mimicry is the sincerest form of flattery.

Sam - I'll get to 40 eventually. Even age wise.

Flat - Vinh's an animal.

From Lyman on Mon, Jan 18, 2010 at 19:07:08 from 75.169.101.104

Hey, you are making progress on all fronts, more pushups, more situps, and more "almost" pullups. Good work!

BTW - Vinh is Marine tough. Its to be expected that he can do 20 pullups.

From Brent on Mon, Jan 18, 2010 at 21:48:34 from 76.8.201.223

Hey Burt...How do you Insert a Youtube video on your blog? Instead of just a word link Thingy....Tell me STAT! :)

From Samantha Dean-Howard on Tue, Jan 19, 2010 at 05:28:40 from 78.32.130.9

We used to do circuits in our running club kids too, and it was squats, star jumps, pull ups, press ups, squat thrusts, step ups, jump steps, sit ups and run up and downs. 1 min then change

I used to be able to do the pull ups for the whole minute, nobody else did LOL now I am not sure I can do 1 !

From Burt on Tue, Jan 19, 2010 at 10:17:37 from 98.177.216.165

From missy on Tue, Jan 19, 2010 at 12:13:46 from 75.162.121.126

SAM! You Beast! I am entirely impressed with your Pull Up Prowess..I know you said you aren't sure you can do it anymore..but your muscle has memory, you would get it back quickly. As for me...GEEZE my body is so HUGE..Need to lose 50 pounds before I can do one..lmao.

From Burt on Tue, Jan 19, 2010 at 12:19:41 from 206.19.214.144

What? All those muscles and you can't do a pull-up? I find that hard to believe.

From missy on Tue, Jan 19, 2010 at 12:33:57 from 75.162.121.126

Well golly GEE Burt..When my rib is better I will try..don't want to strain the Lats! I always do assisted pullups and Lat Pulldown...I'm working on "cutting" right now..here in about 5 pounds or so I will see how many I can do! I feel a challenge..:P Burt the Button pusher!

From Samantha Dean-Howard on Tue, Jan 19, 2010 at 12:46:32 from 90.195.99.245
