Stepped on a sharp piece of metal Friday and ended up with a puncture wound in my right arch. Have taken a few days off to let it heal up a bit.
My lovely wife wanted to go for a run tonight, so we went out for about a 5k. Was fun running with my wife. No intervals or court sprints tonight for me! My foot must be healed up enough to run now ... didn't really bother me.
"The sound of the Gion Shouja bells echoes the impermanence of all things; the color of the sala flowers reveals the truth that the prosperous must decline. The proud do not endure, they are like a dream on a spring night; the mighty fall at last, they are as dust before the wind."
--- Heike Monogatori (平家物語), opening lines (trans. Helen McCullough)
"... they are as dust before the wind." Did Kansas know Japanese literature when they wrote "Dust in the wind??" ;-) |
