Running Accomplishments:

Stay in the game, keep in the moment - have conquered a few of the holy grails of running - sub 3hr marathon, ran Boston and qualified for Boston at Boston, 10K PR under 6 min miles, won a couple of 5Ks in my early days of running, running for 30 years and ran 39 marathons.  The transistion to the back of the pack has not been easy, but, acceptance, stay in the game, root for others, enjoy the rest of the journey.  Another off the bucket list second =  Provo Half IM -  have done 6 open water Tris and 6 pool Tris.  Gave the STG IM a good Tri, hope to take another shot at the IM.

Short-Term Running Goals:

 2013 Race Plan - STG Half IronMan, Lake Mead Rage Olympic distance, STG spring relay tri, STG half marathon, STG marathon, Cozumel IM, Utah Summer Games Triathlon at Gunlock, Murray 5k with family and Utah Half Distance Triathlon, 187 mile red rock relay,  STG marathon,

*note of clarification - cross training miles from biking and swimming calculated as follows: (as someone may wonder) 20 mile an hour bike = 5 cross training miles (those not familar with a 20 mph pace, good bike effort for long distance,  swimming, convert 1 hour swimming to 5 cross training miles.  For those that do not swim much, great cardio workout.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Enjoy the Swim, Bike Run thru Life - Hope to Run a Few Races Support Sylvie - Be a good coach   - Support Jenna, Jeremy, Taylor and Bonnie - my kids are now into running, who would of thunk it.  long term goals, recover from the ankle sprain, accept was it, have fun racing, mountain biking, faster swimming.

Personal:

BSRools, the B stands for Brent and the S for Sylvie.  The Rools come from my personal running rools over the years: Never complain once the run starts, allways pick up the pace into the wind and always pick up the pace on a hill. If someone whines, pick up the pace.  Once a goal is set, no whining, regardless of setbacks.  We were running when running was not Kool.   Kool comes from a race story, ran my first race, 5K wearing a "beanie that had "Kool Aid Kid"

Body not so good miles - Lesson learned the hard way, super bowl food does not make for good running fuel the next day.  The first four miles required 3 trouble stops, then ran another 6 miles with non stop, with last two miles at marathon pace, ran mile cool down.  Overall pace after treadmill conversion 8 minute miles. 

Funny thing, Frank, long time marathon running buddy got on a treadmill just as I started the last 6 miles.   When we got in the locker room, he said:  your an animal.  If he only knew the trouble I had getting going, what kind of animal would that be, winnie the pooh?

May run a few more miles either at lunch or after work.  I would like to get 20 in for the day if possible.  Lastly, all you racers out there with race reports, the longer the race reports the better, we all love reading them, never boring, it puts us right there with you in the race.

Lunch time treadmill, 6 miles @ 8min mile pace, stretch, etc.  Never thought I would get in 17 today given the start this morning. 

Free weight bench press, curls, excercise ball hamstrings, situps, stretches, stick on legs, watching a magical kids movie while Sylvie did the spinning bike for an hour.  Bought a real nice Greg le mond spinnng bike a few years ago for cross training when injured.

17 Big Ones, WOW! You are leaving me in the dust and from the sound of your morning trouble stops, behind you is not the place to be!(jk). Really very impressive, especially with all the big miles you are logging. Time to get back on my horse!

Wow nice mileage today, esp given the circumstances. My stomach had issues all last week, no fun, makes running not so enjoyable. Wait to get at it today!

Nice job today Brent. One of the few days when I was able to match your effort on getting the high miles in.

Sorry the super bowl munchies gave you trouble, could say that you started the day with a 'Heartbreaker' run, without the Tom.

But I'm sure with your great training for the 10K it will be Brent and the Jets all the way, without the Bennie :)

Mike, great sense of humor, yes, behind me was not the place to be. Blazing saddles, without Mel. Hey, saddle up, kick those spurs, hang on, we are on a wild bucking ride.

Tom - Holy Cow, without Harry Carry, the run this morning was with the Electric Prunes, without Kenny. Did you run that extra 10th just to beat out today, what a heartbreaker. Great way to start the week, ramp it up early for a mini-taper?

17 miles plus the bike for an hour! WOW! Kudo's!! Great job. Sorry to hear about stomach troubles. I've had those before and it isn't pretty.
