Very nice 11 and 3100 vert tonight.  Best time yet to Lewis Peak, up in 58 minutes, RT in 1:45.  Wasn't really trying, just felt good to crank it up a little.  Not a soul around anywhere.  Hard to believe I can have a trail that amazing and a peak all to myself for two hours. Worrisome little thunderstorm just to the west over the Lake kept things lively as the trail is right on an exposed ridgeline for a good bit, not a great place to be in a lightening storm.

I ran in my La Sportiva Crosslites tonight, a shoe I bought a year ago, but have been using alot lately.  Had been running 100% in the Wildcats for about a year, but after using the lighter shoe again, concluded they a little heavy and clunky. I am really liking the light minimal shoe. The crazy thing is i have also have been mixing in running in the Hooka One a couple times a week.  How's that for footwear phychosis?  I like the Hooka, don't love'em, but they feel good when my legs and feet are feeling beat up after alot of miles.  To me the analogy is this, running in the Hooka on really technical trail is like tying your shoes with gloves on, you can do it, but it feels clunky and awkward.  But then I tend to be clunky and awkward anyway, so maybe its just the pilot not the craft.

You are a brave soul for venturing out in this unstable weather. And I don't think there is anything better than running in lighter shoes. You can get quicker turnovers.

Having the trail and the peak to yourself is awesome!

Dude, you are seriously cruising. That is fast time for that much vertical. Crazy...Seems like you've really notched it up a number of fitness levels since you got over your spring injuries.

What amazes me is that SLC/Ogden are not small cities (relatively speaking) and we have a lot of outdoorsy people. Yet, we still find ourselves alone on trails all the time. I absolutely love it.

I have a pair of Crosslites and I've really enjoyed them. I think they are a fantastic minimalist shoe and I would definitely get another pair.

Yo... is the divide still open then?? I need to hit that climb in the next few days - decide if I'm going to do the skyline half. If not - I'll climb wagoon wheel and then lewis.. you're rollin - nice.

I have the same La Sportivas I like them except for pounding fast downhill, my toes seem to take a lot of beating, toenails down for the count. What is the Hooka, that is new to me

Thanks Aaron, feels good right now, though the fatigue is setting in.

Lily, there is a fine line between brave soul and dumb soul . . .trying to keep it on the right side of the line, you're right really notice the turnover differnece with light shoes.

Oreo, yep divide open, get out there while you can.

Mozzer, I spelled it wrong, it's the One, not the pipe, though running afer spending some time with the hooka pipe might be the same experience. They are getting some attention around here, check'em out, kinda freaky, exactly the opposite of the Crosslite.
