Wheeler/Icebox/Maples/Overlook to top and back.  Seems this area is my weekly mid grade tempoish run.  14 miles tonight, 2450 vert 1:08 to overlook, 53 minutes back down, 2:01 round trip.  Couldn't get'em turn'en over tonight, just no gas in the tank. Definatly feeling the accumulated fatigue of higher milage with alot of vertical over the past three weeks.  I need to keep it on for another 2-3 weeks to be where I want going into the hunski in Sept.  Not sure how to approach the 50K next week?? long training run I supose.

Once again nice work Bryce.

I would take it a step further than just a long training run. Make it more like a long tempo run. It might be a good opportunity to push some speedy miles late in the race. Get your legs used to turning over quicker even when they are tired. Not that I've done it in a 50k, but I tried it during the Bryce Canyon run and I think I got a lot out of it.

Yo - sweet run... soon... very soon. Been living through your runs this summer. Keep it up!

Dood...for legs not turning over that sure looks to me like a pretty freakin' sweet pace for 14 miles with 2450 in vert...that's seriously cruising, no wonder you felt tired.

Jon, yep, long and training, just have to keep telling myself that.

Jun, good suggestion, and in reality that is proabaly where I will end up, I hope. Though the tempo effort might only be fast enough to net me a back of the back finish at this point, I'm pooped!

Scott, thanks again, really appreciate the good words.

Oreo, oh how I wish you were living these runs with me instead of through me, but you're on the track and you're right, soon, very soon.

Aaron thanks, I feel good about the run overall, I think it was my best time up to the turnaround at Cold Water overlook. But geeze it was alot of work. I have usually been able to keep it sub 7:00 on the descent of that trail, but just couldn't get there on this run. Just accumulated fatigue, but that's the goal of training right? Beat ourselves down so we come back stronger.
