AM

  • 2 mile hike up Mueller Park in Bountiful with James, dad, stepmom, sister

PM

  • bought a treadmill from ksl.com!!
  • ran 2 miles on the TM at 10:00 avg pace (wanted to do more, but had to get to work)
  • looking forward to lots of evening "shake out runs" (as the pros would say) while we watch TV and having temperature-controlled runs during the summer when I'm working back-to-back night shifts and can only run in the afternoon in what would otherwise be scortching heat.  I LOVE IT ALREADY!  So fun!

A treadmill! Super soft surface, controlled conditions. Maybe you should carry your pepper spray just for old times. What brand/model is it?

And a hike, to boot! So jealous.

I am really, really looking forward to backpacking next week with my Dad.

LOL! :) Maybe I could drop it a few times just to really feel at home.

Proform 760 EKG (which we could never find it on the Proform site before we bought it, but he sent us the specs so we could think it over, it's a lot like the 8.5zt...same exact bells and whistles, just looks nicer. It's 2 years old). Do you have one or just a bike? Nothing beats the outdoors though, for sure. This will be purely supplemental.

That's funny, I was jealous of you guys the whole morning and your long run! LOL.

We have the treadmill that KristyAnn is on everyone morning. We bought it about 7 years ago and it has been a champ since that beginning.

How's the treadmill?

From glidergirl on Sun, May 01, 2011 at 22:09:28 from 155.97.238.134

It is great....although I'm nervous. In the 20 minutes I was on it yesterday, the amp breaker on the treadmill flipped and it shut off! I had to reset it 3 times to turn it back on and restart my mileage, etc. That happened in 2 different plugs. I know you don't always know for sure, but the guy REALLY did not seem the type that would pull one over on us like that. I'm hoping it's just because we live in such a tiny apartment and I just need to shut things off beforehand (everything was running yesterday...computers, A/C, TV, lights, etc.). Our apartment is old, too. So I'll try it again tomorrow. Crossing my fingers. Not sure what to do if it happens again tomorrow.

From watchmerun on Sun, May 01, 2011 at 22:22:04 from 24.10.152.45

I know that our treadmill pulls a lot of current, but it has never tripped the breaker. Your treadmill probably pulls about 10 amps. I would assume it is plugged into a 20 amp breaker. I would be wiling to guess that it is the breaker, not the treadmill. I bet if you turn stuff off in the house while using the treadmill, your problem will be solved. But that is a pain. I wonder if the University will try replacing the circuit breaker for you.

One of the first apartments that I lived in had a similar problem. If we ever operated the toaster and the microwave at the same time, the breaker would trip. What a hassle.

OK, this making me feel better... I will try again tomorrow with everything off. I'm also going to put it in the surge protector power strip and if that helps, we'll buy a dedicated one just for the treadmill. Another reason to buy a house...ahhh the tempation is killin us. =0) You know, because a trippy treadmill is enough to get a mortgage, right?

I'm glad to hear your achilles is doing so well!!
