Saw a few students a couple times along the loop at the U who must have been doing some sort of blindness awareness activity (they had those white sticks and their eyes were blind-folded).  They were having difficulty knowing when to cross the street and you could tell they were scared out of their minds of getting hit by a car that wasn't paying attention (heck, I'm scared of getting hit by a car because I wasn't watching well enough and I can see).  Real blind people make all of that seem so easy!!  But these guys made me realize how hard it really is and I am even more grateful for my sight!

It's crazy how much we take for granted! I too am grateful for my sight.

I had to laugh that your fastest pace is under 1mm :) Your watch must've been on while you were on the bus. Either that or you are SUPER fast! Wonderful miles and no mention of pain - woohoo!!

Amen.

Oh yeah, I keep forgetting to comment on a question you asked me. Hmmmm ... how much is too much? When is being careful careful enough? Etc.

I think the question you should continually ask yourself is this: "Is today the same or better than yesterday?" If you wake up in the morning and things are worse than the morning before than you probably should scale back some. If not, I would continue with your plan! :)

Achilles are so stinkin' tricky. Just not a lot of blood supply there to work with.

Love ya!!!

Thanks Rachel! Yes, no pain...couldn't be happier! And yes, sometimes the Garmin freaks out and goes really fast...it's kind of funny!

Thanks so much Teena, that really helped. I will keep monitoring it every day. Each week it gets less and less...sometimes I totally forget there was an issue! I am definitely holding back a bit from what I want to do, so I think that is keeping it from hurting. I'll just keep building slowly. It's so much easier to be patient now that I'm back to running some of my normal routes/distances. Can't wait to start adding more speed.

I'm sad you have to leave your vacation soon. I'm SO glad you've had time with Ryan!
