  • 6.5 easy miles, east high loop, in my Hattori's

Sat through 8 hours of hospital orientation for a hospital I've worked at the last 2.5 years. :)  (Imagine my sheer boredom...I honestly took 6 cat-naps)  But hey, I made a nurse's wage today!!  First day.  Couldn't wait to get out a run afterwards.

Hooray for you! So I've been being to post...my legs are starting to feel the effect of training for a marathon. Especially my lower legs.

So do you think running with minimalist shoes have helped solved your injury problems and/or cutting back on your miles to let you legs recover?

Injuries are getting old and after this race, I want to FIX whatever is causing them!!!! I'm curious as to your thoughts!!!!

Oh man Toby, I was hoping your leg issues had subsided. I personally feel like the barefoot and minimal shoes have helped my feet and legs get stronger so they can handle running. And yes, the break from speed work and high mileage has definitely helped as well. I don't know if it works for everyone, but it did for me. Maybe you could try it during your off season and kind of take time of from your normal routine?

I've been really thinking about it! The only problem is that we are getting into the colder season..I'm alittle chicken about barefoot and snow :) I need to figure something out because running with issues is no fun! What is your next race?

Yah, that's true about the colder weather. Honestly, I have no desire to run barefoot anymore and I think you could even get the same benefits from just using minimal shoes (like the Hattori's...not the less minimal ones like the Nike Frees). If that helps at all. :)
