  • I am tired today from school and midfoot feels a little tender (or bruised) still, so I cut it short.  It usually doesn't feel this way till 3 miles, but since it was still sore from Tuesday at the start of the run, I'll wait till Saturday or Monday to start again while it heals up.
  • No problems from achilles and calves are completely knot-less now thanks to James

I have been having issues with my achilles too. What a pain! Any recommendations (other than rest) of what you have been doing that seems to help? Thanks.

Teena - I can't wait! I miss you! Love you too!!!

Scott - Mine was quite the acute injury (I had crepitus and a huge knob) so I was out for almost 3 months (NO running whatsoever). It was pretty hard, but worth it. I did Graston (or ASTYM) therapy through my physical therapist and I also did eccentric leg lifts with weights everyday (I would highly recommend doing those). Once the inflammation was totally gone, I started running slowly and that along with the lifts seemed to be good therapy to make it strong. I still have to be careful to not build up too fast, but I really don't have any problems as long as I keep my calf muscles very loose with rolling and using The Stick. Hope this helps!! Definitely take care of it though, I guess these things can become chronic problems if not taken care of in the beginning...just don't let it go too far... Good luck! :)

Thank you for the reply. It sounds like yours was a BIG pain. Mine isn't serious yet, but I'm trying to prevent it from getting there. I am going to see a doc on Wed. I appreciate the tips. :)
