I was just looking over your stats, sounds like you are a very similar runner to me. I ran 4:39 and 9:50 for the mile and 2 mile, 15:49 for 3 miles in cross country, all in high school. I also ran a 3:01 marathon a few months ago. And I'm running a 15k tomorrow, in the opposite corner of the country. What time are you shooting for tomorrow?

Hey DL - yeah you are correct, it appears that we are similarly situated - though it looks like you ran very well in college - nice 10k time.

For tomorrow if it was going to be ideal weather, I think I might see how much I could push a sub 6:20 pace However, it is supposed be warm and humid and potentially windy. I am training for a marathon next month, so I am planning instead to run at or just below MRP for the first 5k and then see how I feel - probably hoping to run under 59 mins but won't be upset if the weather changes my plans.

How about you?

I've been having a difficult time figuring that out. I'd love to break an hour, but I think somewhere in the 6:35/mile range is more realistic for me, at least for the first half. Then I may pick it up and see how much I can drop over the second half of the race.

My post-marathon recovery was pretty rough, and I've only been starting to feel normal for the last few weeks. I'm not in the 3:01 shape I was in for the October marathon. We have the opposite weather conditions here. The weather suddenly turned cold and snow. It is supposed to be 18-20 tomorrow morning, though the roads should be dry and ice-free after a sunny day today. Most important for me is that I win my age division, as it is part of a series and I am tied with another guy for leading the division right now.
