Early AM - just before 2 am for this Relay leg I ran a 10k in the darkness. This loop had a lot of challenging terrain of granite rock.  Very difficult to walk let alone run in the dark and wet stone with the overnight dew and humidity.   Headlamp died with 2.5 miles left and there were no runners nearby to share their lamps.  One guy passed me with a headlamp and a flashlight and I said "hey my headlamp died" and he said "I know it's rough".  Perhaps he misheard me. :)

I managed to get the light to come back on for a few more minutes a couple of times and then the route was near the parking lot and so I was able to finish up.  Surprised I did not fall.

AM - 5.3 mile last leg.  Doubled up the last loop with another runner on the team to finish early - so we had to run at her pace which was easy and I was fine with it.  I did trip on a root as I was running behind her on the single track a little too closely.  Small knee abrasion - nothing significant.

Overall this was a good experience to get together with some folks from my church and get to know them better during a unique sort of endurance event. We were not really competitive but it was not about that
