AM - got up dark and early to beat the heat - without too much success as it was 78 degrees at 4:45 am with 80% humidity.  Did 4 four mile loops that went by my house each lap so that I could get some fluids.  Around the beginning of the third lap my shoes were completely soaked with sweat - so I squished the rest of the way.  Little tough heading back out to the succeeding laps as I got my drinks in my driveway (would have been easier to just go inside) but I think it was a good mental toughness exercise in the end.  Run was not great but wasn't terrible either.  Solid week of training.

Still, a good idea. At Deseret News it is quite possible that it will be close to 70 at the start and as high as 80 at the finish. Of course the humidity is very low which helps. If you get acclimated to doing long runs in the heat/humidity the heat minus the humidity here will feel pretty good.

Yup. Ok I am in. Registered this afternoon. Also, coincidentally reading your blog it seems we are at the same weight - I race better at 142 and weighed in yesterday at 148. Need to drop a few lbs before the end of the training period.
