8 miles in 61 mins this morning in St. Pete.  Riley had a swim meet this morning at North Shore pool with a 7 am warm up. So as she went to warm up in the pool I got my run in.  Ran the 10k course of the St. Anthony's Tri - on Snell Isle (added an extra loop to get 8 miles).  Lots of other runners and cyclists out on a muggy  morning.  Probably could have kept this as just a 10k because by the time I was finishing, the sun was really heating up.  She had a really good 500 free last night - dropped 21 secs off of her best time 5:57.  Inspired me.

Bret, you made the mileage board for the week. No aches or pains in the foot?

Hey Rob - no pain in the foot at all this week. Some tightness/soreness in the calves after too many treadmill runs - but that was all. Hoping my legs get more familiar with the tready as it is really preferrable on the long runs given the oppressive heat and humidity.

As you know, I'm a big fan of treadmills. Right now I'm experiencing no pain in the achilles at all on the treadmill, but it still aches quite a bit on the roads and trails. Almost by necessity I do a lot of treadmill running during the winter months and my race times don't seem to suffer at all. I ran my 1:15 half in April off of lots of treadmill running.

Yes - I began to take to the treadmill last year - I think it just takes me a few weeks to have my legs adapt to it. Mixing road and tready works well if I listen to my body and do it gradually.
