AM - tired legs resulted in a planned easy 4 miles this morning.  Had some cramping/spasms in my feet and calves last night in bed (took a magnesium supplement which solved it) - so I took things very light this morning.

PM - 9 miles on the treadmill after work.  Ended up running the first few miles right at 7 mins and the last 3 @ MP - was not really planned as a workout but all of the comments on Bam's log regarding training got me moving faster than I expected.

Those drills have battered your old legs:) Keep at it. Once you finish the hills, you'll feel very strong.

Bret, first off, take everything I say with a mountain of salt - I'm nuts. But listen to this: Don't go hammering the pace of runs on rec days: you'll end up injured.

Following Lydiard will work perfectly well for what you want to achieve. Keep to the plan and then after you've smashed 3 hrs look at what you want to do next.

Jake - very cool news. Had me thinking about it during my run this morning. I head up to Gainesville ("fictional" setting for the original book) this weekend to move my two daughters into school there -

Bam - thanks, you are absolutely correct. I would deem that more of a detour and frolick - not a plan to do that regularly or anything. After all, we do this running thing for enjoyment.
