AM - 5 miles easy before work. Legs no worse for the wear from the first hill session yesterday - probably took it too easy and the steepness was insufficient.  Will head down to Clearwater for tomorrow's session.

PM - 12.5 miles on the treadmill after work due to a thunderstorm which kept me inside.

Great news that the legs have held up and that you're not stiff. It might not be to do with how hard you worked or the steepness of the hill, it might be that your legs are stronger from all the miles.

Why do you hit the treadmill when it rains? Get out there and run in the wind and rain:)

Would like to think my legs are strong from the mileage, but after this morning, I am thinking it was just DOMS.

I generally enjoy running in the rain, but when there is lightning - I give it due respect and stay indoors. They say this area of the world is the "lightning capital." More strikes per minute per whatever. Not sure that's a scientific measure - but I can tell you that a number of people each summer are struck by lightning here.

When I was in college and worked on the beach in the summer time one year, a man was killed by a lightning strike not even a half mile from where I was working.

Sounds like you have rain quite a bit in Tralee - does that include thunderstorms too?

It probably is DOMS - 48hrs after and all that.

I was half joking about hitting the treadmill - I didn't know that the storms were that serious; you stay indoors, even if it's not raining.

We get storms but not too much lightning. I'll think twice now, about going out when there's a thunderstorm.
