PR's

5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

40:30 (4.5 miles) ran to Liberty Park and then around the grass until I hit 20` or so and then ran home.  I resisted the temptation to run longer - and as I hit the hills on the way home I was glad I did, since my legs were pretty tired.  Not bad though, my legs don't feel nearly as trashed as they did after Des News.

Happy Monday bloggers!  I am on my way the city of my birth, Chi-town, the windy city.

54:36.  Nice run along Lakeshore Drive.  I really really really wanted to run longer today -- but today is still a recovery day.  I guess it is better to want to go farther/faster than drag through a run ;-).   All I have to do is put up with one more day of super easy then back to normal.

The weather here is really nice - not too humid, about 65 - 70F and sunny.  I really do love this city.  Second to DC it is my favorite "big" city to run in.  I ran my first 5K race here a few years ago.

Happy Tuesday bloggers.  Hope everyone is recovering well.

1:01:23.  Ran out 31:33 and then back on Lakeshore Drive ... I did not really realize I was picking it up until I stopped ... felt really good.  So good, I will most likely run a double tomorrow.

It was much warmer/humid today (even though I was out almost 1 1/2 hours earlier) - there were so many people out, it was very cool!  Both yesterday and today there were open water swimmers out - and I had visions of being a triathlete -- or maybe just a swimmer, mainly because they looked to me to be so much more comfortable ... but their 'uniforms' would hard for me to get used to, and I would have to get rid of my phobia about "yucky" bottoms of rivers and such (when I was young I was swimming in Minnesota and was covered in leeches -- I have been a little freaked out about fresh water swimming ever since).  Nice dreams anyway!

Happy running bloggers

AM: ( 1:02:18, 7 miles).  Ran along the Lakeshore path (again).  Still cool!

PM: (35:39, 4 miles).  I decided to run the other direction today -- the good part was that the path was along the marina, was not concrete (mixture between asphalt and grass).  The downside was goose poop and tiny black bugs ... tons of geese ... and the grass was covered.  If in the next week I end up really sick and the doctors can't tell what is wrong with me, please my blogger friends - just make sure you tell the doctor for me ... goose poop.

In all seriousness, I am glad I finally got my first double done since last week - I both was looking forward to getting back on my typical "schedule" and dreading how I would feel ... I felt pretty darn good.

Tomorrow I will be back home ...

57:29 - wow, Chicago lived up to its nickname today -- it was so windy on the way out that it felt like I was running uphill in sand.  I was tired anyway from the week of little sleep (probably 3 hours a night - I just couldn't sleep well), long days, and 11 miles yesterday, but man, it was a hard run today.  A lot of people who ran too hard (and passed me)  ended up walking about 3 miles into it (it was really really windy).  Even after I turned around the tailwind did not help as much as the headwind had hurt ... but, it was a pretty morning (really humid, but that is Chicago as well) and I enjoyed my last run there for a while.

Have a great weekend bloggers.

AM: (45:17, 5 miles).  Ran down to Liberty Park and ran one + .25 lap on the outside on the grass.  Still a little tired today!

PM: (33:39, 3.5+).  Another run to Liberty Park and a little in park and then home.  I was tired on the uphill, but it really wasn't too bad.

Have a nice Sunday bloggers.
