PR's

5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

2:03:19 (9:06/8:30).  Doesn't look like much, but it was 91F and sunny when I finished, not an easy run really -- but not horrid either.  At least I finished strong (probably running 7:45 or so the last 2 miles).

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!

Yesterday Dean found a snake in our yard (a racer ... not vemonous) he tried to help it over the wall, but was unsuccessful.  He did find his way back where he belongs later in the day; meaning he was not outside looking into my bedroom from the sliding glass door. When I went outside to see if he was actually gone I found a pile of huge feathers -- no carcass just a whole bunch of feathers, they were big.  Apparently a coyote got something -- and I did not even hear or see it ... wow, it is like a National Geographic show right in my backyard!

AM: (11 miles, 1:30:24).  37:04wu/35:23cd  10 x 1` w/1` recovery.   Beautimous day ... I wanted to do a tougher workout, but stuck with what the coach had in mind.  Truly wonderful ... it is going to get even hotter this weekend, but today was lovely lovely lovely (70F and breezy).

PM: easy 4.

So I bet you all know why I am in such a good mood?  Yes, you got it, this weekend are the PAC-10 track championships ... hosted where?  Thats right, at the U of A!! Yippeee!!  Two days of live track action,  Oregon, Stanford, Washington, UCLA, ASU, U of A ... yippee!!  Good track action!!  When we lived in Nashville we were lucky to see the SEC meet, which had some incredible sprint action, but PAC-10 is a distance powerhouse!!  Should be a blast!

Happy Tuesday bloggers ... back to grading finals ... sigh.

1:12:02.  Pretty nice day, got out late because I had to get up super early to finish grading my finals so I can post grades today.  Things are very very very busy right now on the grant.  I don't even have time to list (thankfully for you and me, as I don't want to see it all in writing) all the things I have to finish by Monday.  I hope so bad that I can take some time off to go to the meet this weekend!

Happy humpday bloggers!!!

AM: (10 miles, 1:31:04).  Probably a little longer than 10, but anyway, the schedule said, "80-90` easy on the hills" -- not too hard to do (since I have to drive not to run on hills ;-) ).  Very fun.

PM: 4 miles easy.

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, I have to make it through the next week.  I have not gotten home earlier than 8:30 any night this week (and I have started work by about 7 every morning) ... I am way way too old for this stuff ;-).

Have a wonderful day bloggers!

1:27:42.  Only one run today.  I am super busy, and I couldn't get by work done, 2 runs in AND go to the 2nd night of the PAC-10 track meet, so I decided to go to the meet.  It is fine, I ran a couple miles more this morning than usual, and I will run a couple more miles tomorrow so the weekend will average out about the same as every weekend.  And this grant will be turned in on Wednesday, so next week I can actually take a day off!! yippee, my first day off in about 4 months, I can't wait.

More on the meet later - the men's 10K last night (did not finish until 11PM) was AWESOME (UofA athlete just decimated a super stacked field: Chris Derrick, Jake Riley, Luke Peskedra ... it looked like an incredible duel meet between Oregon and Stanford's cross-country teams)! I will tell all the details tomorrow.  The women's 10K was slowslowslow (I think the winner was high 35 something -- last year Nicole Blood won in 33:low and there were several women with seed times in the 33's but no one wanted to lead).  As of yesterday Arizona was leading the women and the men were second to Oregon - results here.  Tonight will be much tougher.

Happy Saturday bloggers!
