AM: (9.5 miles, 1:17:45). 29:34wu (+strides)/26:34 cd. 3 mile tempo run (7:18, 7:13, 7:05). I was not sure how this was going to go ... I had many forces conspiring against me, it was very windy, I got about 3 hours of sleep last night, and I this was the first faster tempo run I had done in a very long time. My target range, based on my 1/2 marathon last year, was 6:58-7:16 pace. I planned on starting out at 7:20 pace and maybe staying there. After the first 800 I thought, "this doesn't feel bad, lets pick it up a little". It actually felt better a little faster so I just held it. The last 4 laps I did look at my splits, I just ran hard, I was tired and wouldn't have been too surprised if it had been a little slower, but it wasn't ... cool. PM: 4 miles easy. I am tired, I am not sure how much more I can take. I have to leave work early today so I can get my run in before I take a faculty candidate to dinner tonight (it is not as much as it may sound).
