5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

AM:(7.5 miles, 1:05:27). Easy run down the soccer fields with Dean and then I ran along the river trail for a while and back home.

PM:(4.0 + miles, 37:03). A little scenic run around the golf course (I think it is called the Arthur Pack Desert Golf Course) -- pretty nice, the "rough" of the course is actually dirt/sand/brown grass - a very pleasant running surface (despite the fact we probably weren't supposed to be there). We found a new track too!

Looking good Bonnie, are you training for a race?

From Bonnie on Sat, Nov 22, 2008 at 15:25:40

Hi Josse!! Nice to hear from you.

I am training for a 1/2 marathon in January (I was going to do PF Chang's, but I got invited to give a talk in San Diego so I am contemplating the Carlsbad 1/2) and then -- if I feel good about my 1/2 marathon fitness I will start training for my first marathon -- sometime late spring.

I am running a 5K cross-country race on Thanksgiving - it will be interesting to see how the increase in mileage might help my 5K time, but I have not run a 5K in 3 years so I am not expecting much (I think they are pretty hard -- I almost always end up feeling like throwing up the whole time - or at least I did during my PR).

Are you looking forward to Ogden this year? I bet you will tear it up after this smart downtime ... I am sure it is hard for you, but it will make you stronger when you start racing again.

Hope all is well on the non-running front as well. Happy Thanksgiving Josse.

Where I saw the differance in high mileage is the longer races for me. But I am sure you will do great in your 5k. I agree they are hard. Halfs you have more time to warm up to a fast pace. I am excited to see how you do in the half. I am not sure what my plans are for next year. Do you have a marathon in mind that you want to do?

I am looking for one that is near the beginning of the summer, but before it starts getting hot ... Napa Valley or Grandma's are on my radar right now (Grandma's might be good because I can see my brother at the same time - he lives close-by Duluth).

I have heard alot of good things about Grandmas.

I must have missed something Bonnie...when did you move to Arizona? I'll bet you are loving the winter down there. I hear summer is killer.

From Bonnie on Tue, Nov 25, 2008 at 13:11:12

Hi Sarah!! I guess you have have been a bit busy ;-). We moved here at the beginning of the month - we miss Salt Lake City a lot (despite how nice the weather is here) -- but positions here at the U of A (for both Dean and I) were a better fit for our careers.

Yes, the summers here will be pretty tough -- I am hoping not any more uncomfortable that the Southern summers though (hope hope hope).

Hope all is well with you in your busy house! Nice to see you running again already, you are still my hero!
