5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

55:13 ... easy run to Liberty Park, 2 laps on the grass (inside near the wood chip path, should be ~ 1.5 miles each lap).

We slept in this morning, part of me feels guilty about it, the other part is SO happy to have gotten more sleep than I have in many months.  I finally got a paper off yesterday that I have been working on for over a year.  It feels good to finally have it off my desk!

Happy weekend bloggers.

Hey Bonnie! Congrats on getting the paper done! What a relief that must be! Don't feel one bit guilty about sleeping in for a bit! Sometimes that is just what is needed! Plus it makes it so maybe you will see some sun on the run!

Congrats on the paper. Where did you submit?

Hi Kim, Yes I had seen that you and Tom slept in today too ... must have been the new Spring air! I hope you have a nice Easter planned?

Hi Adam, It is not completely finished yet, it still needs another "going over" by the other authors, but we will be sending it to Biometrics. It is actually a paper that is part of a student dissertation -- his writing left much to be desired ... and it took me forever to edit. But now it is off of my desk and I am happy! Are you at work today?

Glad the paper has moved out of your hands. My last chapter to get published from my thesis work took well over a year before I saw it to print. It amazes me how long these things can take... No work for me today. It was nice to have a day off. I've been fairly lucky the last couple weeks that the student working for me has covered my few Sat things. I do typically still have to go in on Sunday, including tomorrow even though Easter. Luckily only for about an hour... Enough rambling, congrats on the paper and being able to sleep in!

It takes forever to get these papers published -- for stats papers it can take up to two years from time to submission to print!

Happy Easter to you and your family - I am glad you got today off (I usually work at least one weekend day too ... and for the past few weeks every day).
