44:04 easy run to liberty park 6 x :25 w/1` recovery. the downhill felt great (to the park) - the uphill felt ok too -- I just took it easy. I had to go later in the day because of some things that came up at work ... my legs actually feel better when they get a chance to wake up rather than roll out of bed and run!
So, I have no chance of winning this race, it is competitive enough that I will be lucky to be in the top 5 in my age group (I think the age group winner last year was a 47 year old who ran a 1:31:xx) - and still I am excited and nervous, I am writing this down for my own edification more than anything! I have to realize, at this point, that I have done all I could have done - I was patient when I needed to be, I worked hard when I was supposed to, and I took it easy when it was time ... so, now, I just need to know that I can do is get some rest, eat well (and not trip over anything and break my arm or something stupid like that) and see where I am ... sigh. The good news, it is only 13.1 miles - and even though I have had some spectacular race "meltdowns" it is not as long to the finish line as you guys who run marathons!
