10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

1:44:10 (55:22/49:48, at least 8:18 on the way back depending on how long).

at least 12 ... maybe a little longer.  Dean and I wanted to run up at Jeremy Ranch road, but I80 was closed and Dean wanted to double today and did not want to take the time to drive up East Canyon and come in the back way ... so we ended up going to run on the Jordan River Parkway.  We started at Redwood Park and I ran to 54:22 to Germania Park and then turned around (about 6 miles?) and ran back.  It was pretty easy since it was the flattest (and lowest elevation) run I have done in a couple months!  The coolest thing of all was that I ran into Brent and he was sweet enough to slow down and ride along side me for a mile or so!  I was really trying to run slowly on the way out, and it was easy to run slowly since my legs were a little tired, but when I turned around I just started picking it up.  I could not read the road markings well, and was suprised when I thought I was running 9 min pace or slower (because I was reading the wrong paint markers) - because it felt much faster than that!!  When I finally found the mile 2 mark I realized I was running about 8 min pace (it felt pretty easy, just faster than I thought 9 min pace should feel ;-) ) so I eased up a little.  All and all, I felt pretty strong today, I felt I could have run farther and faster, which was my target on how to run! yippee.  Much better than I would have felt up at Jeremy Ranch Road I am sure, but I think I have benefited a lot by the runs up there.

Happy Sunday bloggers.

Wow, awesome running, Bonnie, and what a fabulous pace! Have a great running week!

Hi Lucia,

Thank you -- I am so glad that you and Aaron had a good time yesterday. I used to spend almost every Saturday at Eastern Market (one of the things I miss most about living in Capital Hill - beside my friends!). Do they still have the flea market across the street in the school parking lot? I still have a couple of really nice pieces of furniture I got there (great deals too, I was a post-doc and really couldn't afford much).

Good job on the cross-training - recover smart and we will see you in Phoenix!

Yes, Eastern Market rules! Did you hear the actual building was on fire a few months ago though? The damage was really bad - so the building is now closed until they repair it (needs a brand new roof, windows, etc.) and the shops that were there originally moved to a temporary building across the street. The flea market is still there and bigger than ever. Living in the city has its perks though I still envy you guys for being so close to the mountains!

Bonnie, great to chat with you yesterday. You looked great running, you chatted with ease while running. I think we could talk for miles and miles.

Argentine Rocket - keep up the cross training. (You spelled Rools wrong)

Stay Kool, Lifted Spirits, B of BS Rools out

By the way, thanks for the offer on the fun run next month, Sylvie would gladly take the help.

Brent - THANK YOU! It was so nice to have the company - even for a little while!

Lucia - I had heard about the fire, I was bummed, it was the original building and so many of the shops had been there for generations. I am glad they are rebuilding it, but it is sad that the old building is gone (the historic part was part of its charm - that and waiting in line for hours for a mediocre breakfast!).

Hey, you trying to confuse a foreigner here, Brent? You made me google and look up "rools" on the dictionary!!!
