5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

AM: (9 miles, 1:18:46) 31:56wu +strides/33:19cd.  5 x 200 w/400 recovery.  Dean said I did not run these hard enough last week, so this week I pushed it a little more, 47, 48, 46, 46, 46.  It was 87F (31%), but it was partly cloudy which makes a big difference.

PM: (4 miles easy).  My last week of being able to run these in the light, school starts next week so I will be back to 60 hour weeks, which means lots of late nights ...

I received my official confirmation yesterday, I AM IN for the Houston marathon, January 30, 2011.  It is going to be a challenge to get the training in since Fall is super hard at work, but I am hoping it won't be as tough this time around (training-wise) as I am in better shape.  Only time will tell!

I hope you are all having a wonderful week!!

That's great news about Houston! I'm sure you'll find a way to get in the miles, but don't forget to sleep!

Wish I could go to Houston and watch you cross the finish line! Congrats on the entry!

Me too Kim, that would be awesome! It has been so long since we have chatted after a race (Des News 2008?). Have a great Monday!

Sno, I actually have to sleep to work, I just can't function at all without my brain getting some rest. I am sure sleep affects my running too, but I know it affects my brain ;)

I dunno Bonnie... maybe you could learn to sleep while running, I swear I have some mornings that feel that way! :p

Hey congrats on the Houston info- that's great!

At least you are in AZ so you can have some great winter weather training right??? CONGRATS. I assume it is a BIG one that is hard to get in to?

From Bonnie on Tue, Aug 17, 2010 at 15:16:20 from 128.196.228.134

Hi Kelli, yes Houston sold out last year within a couple of hours so this year they did a lottery, it is even more popular now since the Olympic Trials marathon (for both men and women) will be there next year. Not downhill, but pretty flat and good weather.

Winter is great here for training, unfortunately, Winter doesn't come until November ... but yes, it will be awesome the last 8 weeks or so when the "real" marathon training begins. My biggest problem is finding enough hours in the day to work and train.

CONGRATZ making Houston! I am planning on visiting my daughter there, she's having a baby the end of Jan. So I hope to be able to come watch the Olympic Trials.

Enjoy the rest of the summer break! Here's to a great Fall training season!

I bet finding the hours is tough for you!!!

When we are all whining about the snow, you can tell us how great it feels in AZ---but right now I would not trade you places for MONEY!!!!

Very cool about the race, seems like many bloggers got in so you guys can have a PaRtY!!
