PR's

5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

1:06:16.  I would be lying if I said that because of my day off on Monday and an easy day yesterday I am ready and raring to go for tomorrow.  My legs are tired and dead!  And, I am getting a sinus infection (I am smelling smoke again -- weird -- and my nose was running faster than me today!).  I am still thankful, even if I can't seem to run fast, I am one of the lucky ones in many ways.

Start feeling better. Have a happy Thanksgiving.

Thanks Jeff, you too! I plan on running in a cross-country race (most likely in the rain), if that doesn't make one feel thankful what will ;-) ?

Are you running in any races tomorrow?

There is a 10K/5K/1M event here that is a fund raiser for the local food bank. My family is all going to go down to do the 1M. My son wants to run the 1M but he REALLY wants me to run with him, so I am likely doing that and skipping the 10K (a bit conflicted about it...my competitive juices really want to run the 10K). I will run before the race with Jon from the blog who is in town to visit family. I might just run the 10K course after finishing the 1M with my son just because and see how many folks I can catch!

Hey Jeff - I think Alison Lomax, my running buddy, is running that 10k.

Bonnie - I felt really yucky last night and had a good workout this morning. How we feel can swing like that. The rain will just make it a true cross country race. I am excited to read your race report. GOOOO BOONNNIIIEEEEE!

Michelle, yes Ali told me she was running the 10K and I am trying to get a time to get a couple of runs in with her while she is in town if our schedules work out.

From Bonnie on Wed, Nov 26, 2008 at 12:11:21

Jeff, the 1 mile race is going to be very special -- I think jumping in to "race" the 10K will be fun too, but you have many races that are 'yours!'

Thank you Michelle -- I am excited! mud bogs and hay bales -- my goal is to have mud splattered all over my legs and maybe throw-up at the finish (isn't that what cross-country is all about ;-) ).

Good luck on your pies, my mouth was watering just hearing about them.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Remember this when you are in the middle - if you don't at least dry heave at the end, you haven't pushed enough :) Michelle science.
