5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

AM: (8 miles, 1:10:37).  Same route as yesterday - more than 20F hotter (since I ran later).  Kind of getting used to the heat, but it is not pleasant.

The work party was about what I had expected.  It was a really big affair, lots of very rich people spending/donating a lot of money ... it was for scholarships and they had two students (probably the ones most likely to make everyone cry) tell everyone about how the scholarships changed their lives ... one was a "lost boy" of Sudan and the other was a young woman whose father was a drug addict who died of AIDS when she was a teenager, their family spent a lot of years living in their car and in motels.  Both of the students have great ideals and are planning on changing the world now ... it was very inspiring.

PM: (4 miles easy).

Now I have to grade midterms, it is not fun, they did not do well at all.

I hope you have a great day bloggers -- rest and enjoy, I hope spring is starting to spring where you are too!

Do you scale?

I am pretty much 100% positive that I would fail your classes, Bonnie.

20 degrees hotter later? yikes!!! We thankfully have perfect Spring weather today!

The two scholarship recipients sound like very deserving students. It's great to hear stories like that and see them on the road to brighter and successful future.

GOOD LUCK with grading all the mid-terms. Sorry to hear they did not do well. Hope you have a restful Sunday. Oh, AWESOME weekly mileage! Seriously don't know how you do it all!

Good for those students and best of luck to them.

You're pretty awesome in your own right, you know.
