5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

AM: (~10 miles, 1:29:31).  9 hilly miles + 8 x 100m strides.  I say ~10 miles because I am sure it was longer than 10.  I ran to my turn-around point (rather than my time) and got there with almost 4 mins to spare!  quite a surprise, I guess I am feeling frisky today!

PM: (4 miles easy).

A coyote came right up to our bedroom door this morning - if Dean hadn't have moved he would have run into the house!  I think he was following a scent -- most likely Titus the cat (who had "just" came back inside, yikes!).

Have a wonderful day and week bloggers!

Did the coyote scare you? I think they're beautiful.

No, they don't scare me ... many times when I see them on the trails they just sit and watch me go by. They scare me for Titus though ;-) I am not sure he is fast enough to evade one. Actually, as the one this morning "trotted" off, he was joined by 2 friends, which would have made evasion by Titus pretty much impossible. I watched three of them run down a bunny one time ...

Living among the wildlife is making you frisky.

OOHh. I am scared for Titus too. We have zillions of coyotes in our street/neighborhood, and I'm always trying to wrestle the cats in before dark. They hate me for it.

It is funny, it is like Titus knows that it is different here from the old house. He wants to come in at night. Good thing too!! In the old house he would always stay out all night (and I hated it!).

Your door was open? That would scare me. When I ran Del Sol last year I could hear the coyotes when I was running in the middle of the night and it scared me to death! You are BRAVE!

Nice RUNS!

Titus probably smells all the predators out there. I would have been pretty freaked out. We already lost one cat to the coyotes.

Great running today!
