PR's

5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

AM: 56:58 (slightly longer than 6 miles) - ran two laps on the grass at Liberty Park. I took it really slow, partly because I am trying to make sure I have the energy to run again this afternoon, and partly because my body is just completely exhausted. All the travel has really started to wear me down. Thankfully, I was able to keep from gaining weight, I have not lost any more than I had before the past two weeks of travel - and as hard as I tried I could not eat as well as I had wanted. My goal for the rest of the week, and into next, is to try really hard not to get sick!

PM: 30:29 (3.5 miles or so).  Despite the fact this was a harder run than this morning (hilly loop on the Shoreline trail) I felt a lot better, though my body is tired.  Debated on going longer tonight, but decided against it -- maybe next week after I catch up on some sleep.

This weekend is going to be tough - I have to work all weekend, lots of deadlines.

You have done really well staying consistent while traveling. That is always a challenge for me. Great job!

Grants, manuscripts, or "other"

From Bonnie on Thu, Jun 26, 2008 at 23:07:40

Hi Adam,

Two grants I am helping write and I have 4 grants to review for a phone "study section" on Tuesday!! I am getting "granted out"! I am reviewing a paper that is due July 15th ... writing all of this down is wearing me out ;-).

Are you submitting anything this cycle Adam?

I just got invited to write a paper for a journal on cancer research - that is the good news - the bad news is that it is due in August ;-).

Hope all is well in your lab!

Bonnie

Nothing this time around. I'm trying to get some work done for a RO1 resubmission but I'm covered through next July. I just put in two abstracts for a meeting in Sept (Keystone) adn Nov (AHA). Good luck with all that writing for now I'll be happy that I'm just a post-doc...

I haven't checked in with you for a bit, Bonnie. It sounds like you are working yourself to the bones! I hope you get to have fun time too! Be careful and don't overdo it!
