4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

AM: (11 miles, 1:27:13)  27:43wu/30:17cd  4 mile Steady State run (target range 7:16-7:28); actual: 7:28, 7:18, 7:16, 7:06.  Felt a little sluggish the first mile, but then I felt pretty good and really felt good the last two, sweet!  I was working until about 9 last night, but somehow I slept really good for the 6 hours I slept, so I felt pretty good today.

Things are so tough today.  I am going to NIH for grant review, first I was going through Chicago, so yesterday I changed my flight through Dallas. Hmm, they have cancelled on flight already and rescheduled me (again), I get into DC at 2AM!!  The reviews start at 7AM (eastern - 2 hours a head of my time) ... it takes at least an hour to get to the hotel from the airport ... sigh.  It is going to be a l-o-n-g day tomorrow.  I will be very luck to even get a 5 mile run in tomorrow ... oh well, sometimes life gets in the way.  I guess I am surprised that this is the first time my running schedule is being affected from my crazy work life right now.  Some times are just like that.

I am going to DC tomorrow (hopefully) instead.

I have to finish 2 more reviews by tonight ... and I have to pack.

PM :  many cancelled flights later I got to run 4 miles easy

Have a wonderful week bloggers, I am not sure how much time I will have to blog.  Stay warm, dry and safe!

Have a safe trip Bonnie!

Thank you April -- I am not going anywhere today -- they cancelled all 3 flights I was booked, and rebooked, on. Now I am trying to get out tomorrow, I would really hate to do this by phone -- 12 hours a day is bad enough in a room full of people -- it is torture on the phone!!

Hope your recovery is going well!

good luck with all the crazy work stuff

They should put treadmills on planes!

You seem exceptionally good at balancing your busy work schedule with your running, Bonnie! Are flights cancelled because of the storms coming in?

From Bonnie on Tue, Feb 01, 2011 at 17:23:08 from 64.119.33.134

ChrisM -- that would be SO awesome!!

hello Auntie, yup the storms are making it hard on all of us. Chicago airport is closed, and Dallas (my other two flights) has been closing for hours at a time, then opening, then closing again, all day. I feel badly for the program officer at NIH she has about 30 people that are trying to get in for this meeting and most of us are having problems getting there. I am pretty used to crazy work schedules so I guess I just adapt ;-).

What a mess! Good luck with the travel, and I agree - you set an awesome example of balancing work and life and running. Thanks for that.

Wow, I need a nap just reading all of that! I hope you got into DC and don't have to do everything over the phone!

Nice job working in a great run.
