5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

AM: (1:21:33, 9.5 miles).  Modified fartlek workout.  I wanted to do 4 x 2000m tempo intervals, but I kept  missing some of the 200m markings (and the ones I did see I was pretty skeptical about the pace they set me as going).  So, I modified it to approximately 8` on with 3-4` recovery (I say approximately because I was trying hard to get an idea of my pace so I was trying to use the mile markers instead -- again I did not believe them!).  So, I ran 8:15, 8:47, 8:00 and 8:11 on with ~ 4`.  I finally was able to get an accurate mile reading the final one, HOLY COW, my original splits were right - I was running 7:00 - 7:05 pace!  I really really really did not think I was running that fast.  Actually, I was not supposed to be running that fast (tempo interval pace is about 7:15-7:25 for me).  I need to get to a track - and I need to get up to Mt Lemmon (8000 ft) so I can retain some of this altitude training benefit.  I am really shocked.   I am hoping, if I can stay healthy between now and Thanksgiving to be pleasantly suprised at my race time -- although cross-country courses are actually not really the best race to use for "time" - if I can break 22:30 for a xc 5K I would be happy at this point.  Next week -- tempo run (grrrrrr!).

PM: (3.5 miles).

Happy Election Day bloggers.

Nice job. You have been putting in some serious mileage. Keep up the great work.

Thanks Matt! you are training well too! I generally run by time (keeping it at about 9-10 hours/week) - and estimate mileage. I think that I am currently underestimating a little -- but it is not really that much difference (at most a mile or two a week).

Have a great day!

Great run today, that is an awesome pace for your tempo.

I was shocked, honestly - we'll see what the track shows (tracks don't lie ;-) ).

How did your Move go, Bonnie? I agree with the mileage comment! You are doing awesome!

WOW you are so fast, amazing! Great job! So my new goal now that I'm losing a few pounds is to get some nice looking abbs so I can post a picture like yours! Keep up the great work!
