5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

47:06.  Normally my day off I decided to run a little today since the next couple weeks running will be sketchy.  Felt pretty good - it was likely longer than 5 miles, but short of 5.5 -- I just wanted to run for 45 mins ...

Happy Monday!

If you're not sick, it was probably really good you got out today. I hope you're not sick for that killer-flyrightthroughthrusday-trip. That would be misery. Good luck in Taipei, I really appreciated your comments last week. I keep telling myself that the hay is in the barn....Seriously thank you for that wise message. We'll just see what happens Saturday. Have a safe trip. AZ should be a nice change for Fall....

Hi Luz,

I was thinking about you this morning (as I was jogging my 9:30 pace miles - knowing that you were running faster than me ;-) ) ... I am just teasing you, what I really was thinking about was how well you were going to do on Saturday! I just know it!

I am sick, but the antibiotics are working - and I have more in case this first batch does not work. I don't think it is bad enough to cause me any more discomfort than 16 hour flights normally cause ;-) (having nothing to do with sinus infections) -- maybe being a little "sick" will help me sleep on the flight.

I will try to blog about my trip! And be thinking about you - and wishing you great times (not the clock type - well, that too) on Saturday.

So only a couple more weeks until the move, right? Things must be getting very busy!

Hi Lauren, when things are more than busy -- we have about 3 weeks until the move (I think we will be leaving here on the 23rd of October, arriving in Tucson on the 27th or 28th (after a brief stay in Flagstaff). But tomorrow we are on our way to Taiwan (yes, the same place that has had 3 typhoons in the past 3 weeks and another on the way!!!) to give talks in a workshop. Things are a bit chaotic in our house right now ;-).
