Ouch, well I shouldn't have done hills today, bad call on my part. My paraphormus wasn't feeling bad until after though so it was hard. The first two repetitions felt good but the last two I couldn't breathe, I had really bad shortness of breathe both during the repetitions and during the recovery. This contributed to my muscles not getting enough oxygen and I nearly cramped up 3 or 4 times about half a mile after the hill workout. Luckily I'm very experienced when it comes to getting muscle cramps so I know how to stop them a lot of the time now. I struggled through the rest of the run in pain and lacking energy because I haven't been eating enough, I probably am very low on carbohydrates too. Food is no longer enjoyable. I might not be able to run at BYU on Saturday, I need to be thinking of Simplot with only a month to go. My goal for indoor is 4:26, if I do this I will have all my goals for the year lined up and ready to hit. But I'm ok with 4:29 too, what's really important to me is running 4:23 at Pineview and then running sub 4:20 at Arcadia. After that, I will set big goals for BYU, region, and state. I know my hip/pelvis will get better, I just need to be patient, work through it, and soon enough I will be ok. I just came back from the hot tub and I'm feeling way better, almost pain free! I will definitely go again tomorrow, BYU is looking probable right now. |
