Dealing with some peroneal tendonitis. I noticed it a bit during my last couple runs and then Sunday/monday it was beginning to hurt when I was walking. I ordered a brace and some compression socks and gave it some rest. Was planning on just doing 4-6 today but I was feeling good and wanted to keep going towards the end. My ankle got a bit sore during the last mile or two so maybe that was a bad call. One of the only things I'm a little bitter about in life is how bad the athletic training staff were at SUU. The guy I would always check in with before practice for my Achilles would just pinch along my tendon until he found the most painful part of it- every time I would go in, and then he'd wrap my ankle... which never seemed to do much for the Achilles. I wish I knew back then that all I needed was a massage gun and calf raises. |
