Good solid run today down Sardine Canyon and into Mantua with Ken, Riley, Dave and Jason Holt.

Did a 2.40 mile warm before I started into my first 3 mile tempo. Ran with Ken and Dave for this one.

Mile splits were 5:41; 5:38; 5:24 all was conversational. Ken and I just talked crap to eachother the whole time. Best friends that want to kill eachother in races! I think thats how are entire group is. We motivate the Shizz out of eachother that we want to beat eachother very badly. Glad I am apart of it.

We did some easy mileage around Mantua twice then headed out on the road down the rest of sardine then knocked out 3 more miles at marathon pace.

Splits were 5:27; 5:19; and 5:35 up the hill into Brigham City. I need to check but last time on the hill I think I was close to 5:50 pace so definetly improvement.

Cooled for 2 more miles and called it a day.

Good run, legs responded well. There is still work to do in the next couple of weeks, so that gets me excited to improve my fitness even more. Hope I can shock some people in STG!

Nice run Ben. It looks like your training is shaping up well for SGM.

So you guys are U fans up there? Good to hear :) I took a nap so I think I will be able to stay up through the game.

No Fritz I am not a Ute fan lets get that clear! I hope the Utes get creamed tonight! Riley just hasnt seen the light yet on becoming a BYU fan!

From Fritz on Sat, Sep 21, 2013 at 19:35:56 from 67.177.4.64

Ah, apologies for the false assumption. It's good to know you and Riley can still be friends. I have a few BYU fan friends too.

From Ben VanBeekum on Sat, Sep 21, 2013 at 20:08:47 from 67.169.244.46

Apologie accepted. Haha! Ya Riley and I have some good conversations about BYU and the Red Team.

Fritz, Ben and I are great pals, but I will say that Ben is a horrible sports fan! BYU, Los Angeles Lakers...are you kidding me?!

From RileyCook on Mon, Sep 23, 2013 at 09:24:12 from 132.3.57.82

In fact, he even claims Jimmer is better than Damian Lillard!! Un-be-liev-able!

But we still love ya Ben despite your huge sports-fan flaws!

From Fritz on Mon, Sep 23, 2013 at 10:33:45 from 65.116.116.6

I know BYU fans hold Jimmer on a special pedestal so I have learned not to dispute his skills or lack thereof.

Here is an article debating Lillard vs. Deron Williams.

The most interesting part of that article is the audacity of the headline.

I would not want either writer to make a case for me, but that Ian Flick guy is an awful writer without even a poorly written useful thought to consider. In summary, one had a superior rookie season on a bad team and the other has good cumulative stats and kept them up kind of while injured.

Say that Lillard is better because he can be a menacing scorer and already has the ability to rise to the occasion or Williams is better because his playmaking abilities, shooting and willingness to attack the rim with reckless abanodon keeps the defense perpetually off balance. Maybe mention that Lillard needs to learn to play defense.
