Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to accomplish my short term goals first... Once I do that, I will have an idea of what to expect long term... 44 yrs old now and since I've been injured free for 1 month I am jumping back on marathon training. Any recommendations for a good marathon in December 2021? What is your recommendation?

Personal:

Don't knock it until you try it.

You know almost all of your miles are logged as easy...:) Even your profile picture looks like you're running easy... Someday I'm hoping to log some "easy" miles and actually mean it...LOL

Well yesterday I had stomach problems, I went for 8@7:40 then 9,10,11 at 11 min pace then the next 6 at 7 min pace, then the last 3 @ 6:20 pace.. Total time 2:42, yea I log in some easy miles... I do two workouts a week, a 10 tempo and 8 to 10 1000 @ cv pace... I just put them as easy running lol I hate typing lol

It's funny you mention your tempo miles, I've never really done them (actully just figuring out what the are...I've only been running less than a year). I have my "real" first one on my schedule to do a Tempo run tomorrow (1 slow, 5 tempo @ 85% HR, 1 slow, 5 tempo again @ 85% HR). I'm not sure if I can keep up 85% HR for five miles...It may be more like 80%. I'm sure you don't run by HR but I've been doing that to better access where I am, I haven't really gotten the knack of running by "feel" yet.

Keep up the good work...it's amazing to look at your race accomplishments, I believe you will reach your 2:30 goal soon!!!

Well my tempo's are run at 5:30-5:40 for 10 miles, with a 2 mile warmup 2 mile cooldown, now my cv 1000, I run them anywhere between 3:11 and 3:17 around 5:05-5:10 pace per mile, as far as heart rate it's too hot here in laredo for that so I just throw that out the door. I've been running since I was 14, I'm 34 20 yrs of running. I see that you have just started and you have dropped a lot. Listen to your body and keep your mileage steady. You are doing great! :)

I've only raced 6 out of my 10 marathons... four of them I did them as training runs.

I'm hoping to crack 2:30, don't know if it will happen in Boston, but if it doesn't I will find me another race. Thanks for browsing my blog.

So you're going to Boston this year? I'm trying to qualify at my first Marathon on May 1st in Oklahoma...If I do I'll be going next year...and hopfully running a much lower time.

Sorry to keep pestering you but can you tell me what cv 1000 means?

From Benny's on Mon, Mar 14, 2011 at 16:08:31 from 24.170.84.44

CV-Critical velocity is a pace that you can sustain for some 45 minutes

So I do 10x1000 meters at around 5:10-5:15 which is about close to my 10k pace

btw you are not pestering me around,
