For a while I thought 5am meant 5:00am not 5 miles in the am. You should increase those to 6.5 and 4 or 4.5 and you could have some serious mileage.

it's hard to run more than 5 in the morning when i have to be at work by 8am. it's going to be dark soon.

Im probably gonna be running 4-5.7 in the morning and whatever the running club is doing in the afternoons (6-8) and I have to be at work at 8am. You gotta make your evening run the longer run. Tell this kristin girl whats up. Run 3-4 before or after running with her if need be.

in response to tell the kristin girl what's up, how's your girlfriend doing?

i'm not going to ramp up right away like you. i'm going to just try to run ~60 for a bit. i'm planning on being in shape for this race in hawaii in march called run to the sun. i don't really want to injure myself right off the bat. it's so much better running in the morning even 4 miles, it makes the evening run so much more manageable and less daunting/time consuming. the books on tape are essential.

She's fine. We are keeping it very casual at least for now. Med school has been too busy to spend a whole lot of time together.

After running only slightly slower than in the spring with an extra 15lb and off of only 40-50mpw Im thinking more along the lines of 80mpw than 90.

Doubling is the best thing that you can do for your running in my opinion. Most people would say singles at the same total distance are far better but I am even on the edge on that debate. But if you are gonna double, get over running in the dark. Its gonna happen soon. In the words of two ripped dudes from the movie 300 "Our archers will blot out the sun" "Then we shall fight in the shade".
