| Today I did a Fartlek run. It was my fist time ever and it was on a treadmill so who knows if I did it right. But it was intervals! I felt pretty good considering the weekend of eating I had with Christmas and all. My hamstrings were a little tight. Hope that doesn't continue! This is my first week of following the training Jeff put together for me for my marathon. Hope all goes well! | |

| Had a pretty good run today considering the long work day I had and that I feel like I'm getting sick. Just a recovery run so I kept the same pace pretty much the whole time. My problem is I hate running at night. My stomach always does funky things after a long run. Any suggestions? It's just too hard to run in the morning when I work at 4 a.m.! All in all, not too bad. | |

| So I was suppose to run 5 miles at marathon pace today but I had gone 2 miles and felt like I was going to pass out. I figured that was my cue to stop. Sort of feel like I have been fighting off some kind of sickness that I don't have time for. Tomorrow is suppose to be my long run since I probably won't have time on New Year's Day. Hoping to go 15. At the very least 13. We'll see how it goes! Hopefully it goes- and no passing out! |

| 15 miles is a long time on a treadmill! But I did it! I was a little worried after yesterdays run (or lack there of), but I felt pretty good. I still have to get the whole "what do I eat before I run 15 miles?" thing down. Did some sport beans. Seemed to work ok. I think I'll try a couple different energy gels and what not to see what works for me. Thank you Jeff for the running advice on my form. Something to always work on for me. Long runs are a good time to try and correct things that are wrong (which is a lot for me!). All in all I feel great for having run that far. Plus- I realized that I did it in 2:23 and that is only 3 minutes slower than my first half marathon! I just might become a real runner yet! 6.3 until mile 12.5 then 6.4 for 2 miles then 6.5 for the last .5. | |

Today I ran a slower 5 miles since yesterday I did 15. My schedule kind of got switched around a bit with the New Year's celebration coming up. We were in Pocatello today and heading to Logan on New Year's Day. I ran at a gym in Poky. Not as nice as Apple's treadmills, but it was sufficient! I bumped up the incline for a few of the miles as per Jeff's advice to try to simulate running outside more. I guess running outside just feels easier to me because it is more distracting than a dang treadmill! On the upside, I have caught up on all my t.v. episodes! Downside- need to find something new to watch on my next long run if it is still 12 below zero! Please sunshine and warmth- come back!! |
