I've been out of town (Vegas) for a wedding and haven't run much lately so I have been wondering how much fitness I lost.  Especially considering I gained a couple pounds on vacation.  Hash House a Go Go is an amazing place to eat by the way. I go on my run and feel pretty good, but run at a comfortable slow pace.  I get to the point on my run where I normally start running, but my HR alert hasn't gone off yet, so I keep going and going.  About the 1 mile mark I realize I turned off the alert on my hike earlier in the week.  So my avg HR is higher than normal and it is difficult to compare to prior runs as I didn't follow the same rules.  I think I did lose a bit of fitness, but not as much as I feared.  Going camping  tomorrow for the weekend (Chiricahua area) and will do some hiking, but probably not any running.  Hopefully the hiking will keep me in shape.
