Felt like a really tough race today.  I have felt behind for a few weeks now with the fall racing and hoped by taking it easy this week to grab some back, but need a break!  The pace for the first 6 was pretty close to a 1:10 time but I could tell that there was no way I could hold on to it.  My legs were just too tired.  I don't recall wanting to DNF a race this many times for a while, lol!  After mile 8 I seemed to catch my breath and it started getting fun again.  This was my slowest half time for the year, but a two minute PR on this course for me.

Best part of the morning was talking to the guys after.  It was good to have a chance to talk to Walter for a bit, great Master run on this course.  I believe it could be the record.  Also just two really nice races by Jake and Paul.

No worries Steve, sometimes the body just has it's down cycles. You still ran pretty well so hang in there and recover well.

hey thats still a great time. and the fatigue- its the water skiing- builds the wrong kind of muscles for running if you do it too long. the solution is to invite ME to come water skiing with you so you don't have to work as hard by yourself.

sorry I missed you at the race this year. I am kind of staying away from sun and snow races this year for various reasons. maybe I will be back at them next year.

Yes its funny how you mentioned peaking early this year. I felt the same way. I however had almost 2 months of rest from april to June and I feel like I am building now. I was surprised you didnt pass me honestly. I kept thinking, "I wonder if he didnt make it up here?" Great job though. I wanted to go boating so bad afterwards! Next time!

Steve way to hang in there even though you weren't feeling great. You never know... it might just totally click for the next one!

That is still a rockin' time, congrats on a strong race even when you were not feeling it.

Hey nice job...keep it up! Great talking to you before the race. Conner really missed the race. He wish he could have done it...

Thanks guys! Rob, always fun to talk to you, let me know when Conner's next race will be. I'd love to come watch.

Walter, maybe we need to throw a big FRB lake party and hang out on the beach for an evening. Scott can show us some good skiing and I will try to not get hurt.

Hey, good job on the race. I wish I could have run it also. I finally updated my blog. Here is the Sky View Cross Country Schedule for the year:
