A long morning in Detroit and I thought this might be a good time to start some running again.  I dragged myself down to the hotel workout room since it was cold out and hopped on the treadmill.  After three miles I couldn't take it anymore!  I just have zero motivation for any running right now, especially on a hamster wheel.  But I did log some miles for the mileage board!

I'm thinking next Monday will be the perfect time to start some training.  Good news is that I have a great hiking trip planned for Arizona Wednesday..

Enjoy all the adventures and adrenaline rush! Sounds like you are having a lot of fun...can we live vicariously through you for a while?

You mean the Detroit hotel run? I don't think you'd like that either. I need to borrow some of your motivation for a while. Or just sign up for a race and go do it so I get some of the excitement back. :-)

Been there...done that (specifically!!). Naw, I mean the kiteboarding, hiking, trail running, mountain climbing, etc.

There are certain neighborhoods you can walk through in Detroit that would give you an adrenaline rush.

There are some nice roads to run on out in Romulus near the airport that are not bad (neighborhood or traffic wise). Wick Road is actually a nice road to run on.

I'll have to try that. Actually, Chicago scares me the most running. The neighborhoods East of Midway airport are the worst I have ever ran through. I have had two attempted assaults there.

But I did see two mountain lions in the Santa Anas last week too..

It's a good way to keep up a nice tempo pace :)
